Saturday is big for me on many levels. Dad (an arse I don't speak to) is from the Barnsley area (Penistone). Cousin and uncle on mums side are Barnsley fans for some reason (the rest are botherers). Had a trial with Barnsley when I was 14 and got turned down

Of far more importance, if we win that, and I think we will, we go into Forest knowing we could win all our matches in a month and, even if the Daily Mirror were casting votes, Monk has to win Manager of the month (hopefully the first of five on the trot).

Onto Forest, and at the risk of sounding like Ann Frank, my diary update. Tickets arrived today and young un is bouncing like Zebedee. Won't be home until 1am Thursday and he still didn't bat an eyelid when I told him there is more chance of Millwall getting promoted than him having a day off school Thursday. Oh, it is so long since it felt this good to be a Leeds fan and long may it continue.

He banged 1 in 2 for leicester the previous year after signing for them in January, and helped them to the play-offs. I don't see it as his first personal success.

However, If anything I'd say that having experienced highs lows, periods in and out of sides, might make him better able to realise that he's on a good thing and that the grass isn't always greener (even with the money to build a bigger house on it).

We might not agree on his motivation but whatever the reason let's hope he sees being at Leeds as a good thing

 

Stewart Downing supposed to be signing in the morning? Not sure I like this if true. Yes was a good England player, always done well but struggled with Villa in. Apoor team for a few seasons, did ok again with Boro but not good enough for prem now. Anyone think this is good, I can only say I trust Monk

 

I'll only think it's good if he can cover CB or CF! Another midfielder??

 

Just a rumour I think, as we had a game this afternoon with 3 Trialists on our team, Mâttŷ Downing played he is 17 in our development squad I think !!

 

Grabban goes on loan to PNE ffs that could have been us, but heard it again on Twitter fromRadabe & Leeds UtdOfficial regarding Downing, but like you believe it if it happens
