Ruby giving it to the punters straight http://www.sportinglife.com/racing/...y-walsh-plays-down-yorkhill-switch-to-hurdles Expect Yorkhill to run in the Champion Hurdle
He was also playing down the Melon in an interview with Irish racing today as well there's two bankers now anyway
Jezki supposedly going 2m Red Mills.. Very worrying times for BDV backers if so. They'll be reaching for the ropes when Bazza opts for Jessie's good thing in the Champion over the Hendo sack
And there was me being smug with my Jezki Stayers Hurdle Ante Post bet. I was hoping to pay for Vegas off the back of it. Looks like it's going to be a dirty weekend in Blackpool instead........
There is as I speak some real market weakness for Buveur D'air on the Betfair exchange. Not a penny wanting to back him. Yanworth is also solidifying. Not another issue in this race surely?
Apologies but the panic seems to be over- money has returned as normal to Buveur D'air. Yanworth trading at 7.6 and intriguingly still at 17s for the Stayers Hurdle. Perhaps there is still the possibility of he and Jezki switching targets. Don't think Jezki will win another Champion so IMO it would be a waste of time.
There you go lads - straight from the trainer's mouth. Yorkhill will NOT run in the Champion Hurdle. http://www.sportinglife.com/racing/...ement-yorkhill-for-cheltenham-champion-hurdle Info you can trust.
The key phrase is always "at the moment" with Willie. Which roughly translated means "you think I'm gonna ****ing tell you?" They'll have their standard decision meetings the week before they go I shouldn't imagine and then **** most of our not606 preview drafts up.
Yep the 'at the moment' is the caveat there. Put it this way I'm still happy enough with 7/2 NRNB on the beast turning up here anyway What are they going to run then? VVM only Ricci entry, surely he'd want a runner in the race he's won twice the last two years? They took out Limini at the latest forfeit stage. Some mad theories going round re Un de Scueax. Actually hope they do something like revert a chaser back to it for pure intrigue value as its a woefully unimpressive field for a Champion Hurdle.
If i owned UDS I would be thinking very hard about switching him to this - could be an easier race than the Ryanair.... If I owned Yorkhill I would have done that already as dont think his jumping has been good enough. Yanworth is a boat and if people are touting him as having even a squeak then its there for the taking.
As I said in an earlier post would love to see UDS in this, would go from the front wind up from 2 out and get the rest at it! Simple! Generally the champion hurdle is won by a horse that stays longer than the 2m!
I would imagine Gigginstown would send Petit Mouchoir to the front at any cost. I would be certain that Ruby would take a lead having been annihilated when trying to take him on with Nichols Canyon. I know some were of the view that Nichols Canyon wasn't at his best in their two meetings and they downgraded Petit's performance beacause of that but I reckon he would do that to any horse who tried to take them on bar Faugheen. It's just a matter of whether the closers can pick him up or not.
Limini the next one to be talked about as a supplementary entry .....................................
Don't understand the negativity about Yanworth's chances. He's proved his effectiveness over 2 miles at Kempton, but we all know the 2 miles round Cheltenham will suit him far better. And the horse that beat him in last year's festival is not going to run. Watch Yanworth power up that hill, memories of Katchit in 2008. Mind you, Katchit was 10/1 that day. The only thing that would put me off Yanworth now would be the price.
I see the full line up for the champion hurdle is confirmed although jockey bookings not confirmed by the one trainer Willie Mullins. What is the reason for this? It seems everyone else is capable of confirming.. i think the way they behave is pretty shocking to be honest...
