Starting XI: Schmeichel; Simpson, Morgan (c), Huth, Fuchs; Mahrez, Drinkwater, Amartey, Albrighton; Slimani, Vardy. #leisou Subs: Hernandez, King, Schlupp, Okazaki, Zieler, Gray, Ulloa
Don't think Vards or Drinky have done much to impress the watching Southgate ? Tactically we need a plan b and c .
We need a midfielder who can go past players. Our counter attack or crosses from out wide are being combatted nowadays, maybe Mahrez in central midfield to run at opposition defences or try Kaputska out. Think It'll be mid table mediocrity at this rate, then again Southampton are a decent side.
IMO the team is lacking any ideas, Southampton are a good side and knew how to stop us from playing! the team needs a shake up.
I think we need Okazaki on if we are to play that formation or move to more of a 4-2-3-1 E.g. Kasper Simpson Morgan Huth Fuchs Drinkwater Amartey Gray Mahrez Musa Vardy
A bit harsh to say that we just "stopped you playing", I honestly thought we were the better team full stop today. And that's from a confirmed Ranieri-phile!
Would really like to make the top six but as long as we don't go down or be involved in a relegation battle I'll be happy(ish). Team doesn't seem to be gelling like last year, maybe it'll take awhile before we start to hit proper form. Top six still a realistic challenge though.
... you were ... yet we still had arguably the better chances ... Vardy looks like he needs a complete rest .. Okazaki all but transformed us with his movement and trickery... and Mahrez really does need to be central as he is the only one with any real invention in the midfield... we give the ball away far too easily ...
Sounds like it was a really good Sunday to have man flu. Gutted knowing I would miss it, but glad I did.
Not many chances created again, Vardy had 1 gifted to him. Can't complain about the pressing too much, but there was little drive to get second balls, Ranieri admitted he should have shook it up a bit more recently as there did seem like a few tired legs. Boiled down it looked like 2 lethargic sides that havn't recovered from european fixtures. Honestly not the best start to the season, but still unbeaten at home and 2 wins in the CL, so can't really complain either
... fuse already lit ... waiting for the Spud implosion ... bits of mash everywhere and no title in fifty years ... but nice to see you've come out of the shadow ... oh but wait ... you haven't ... you've been in Arsenal's shadow for decades ... jog on (and get yourself a torch - one with long battery life)
Might only have been one trick, but we executed it to perfection.....unlike Spurs who got the glass, bottle, bottle, glass trick totally wrong. There was no glass and the season ended up bottle, bottle, bottle, bottle.
