Team For Aston Villa

I know its still over two weeks away and the future of several of our current players and potential signings is still uncertain, but its quite possible that our team for the Villa game could be quite competitive. I expect Slutsky to bring in a few new players in addition to the ones already in the building or in negotiations, but this is what our Villa line up could look like if we keep the ones already here. Lets hope Leo works his magic on the players hes after.

I hope that he has noticed just how ****ing useless Gregsy is.
I know a lot of old dears on here rate him... mind you, they also like SB..

McGregor does concern me from an injury and fitness perspective. He looks like he's put on about 5 stone.

It's a huge shame he's injured, could impact his season again. He needed a good pre season more than anyone.

 

To be fair, McGregor had a really good loan spell and Cardiff last season, and did very well. I am not unduly worried, I think he is not a bad keeper and quiet OK for the Championship.

 

He's more than good enough for back-up, same goes for Mannion.

 

Mannion is going to be a very good keeper, at 19 just a bit young, but agree he certainly could be a back up if necessary.

The 4 attacking players will swap places a lot, from Slutsky's comments I think that is what he wants.

That's more than competitive.

 

Thought Aina was a RB?

 

I would be going with that with our current squad. Would like a pure LB to come in and move Aina to Rb

 

Ideally he is but he can play left back or centre back and has done for Chelsea.

 

Get Campbell off that frigging wing.

 

He wouldn't be an out and out winger. I expect 4 attacking players swapping positions rather than being stuck to a position.

 

I know but if a cross comes in I want him in the middle challenging for it. If we have to clear a long ball into the channel I want Campbell chasing after it and putting pressure on them. If Hernandez starts it's alongside Campbell, so he can use the space Campbell creates with his running, not instead of Campbell.

Yeah especially if they have the usual priority period for season members aswell.
