If anyone has a genuine complaint then please PM me or Tewkes. It's how we've tried to handle situations in the past But me and Tewkes did speak about setting a sticky setting out certain procedures so can only apologise if this hasn't been made clear.
Didn't this thread start as a consequence of Solly getting a contract extension? I'm sure most of us have been hoping more would follow, but so far nothing.
It is indeed a genuine complaint, SuperC. But I do realise it was a lapse in judgement from typical, so I am not going to take the matter further. I have a ginger relative and they have suffered awfully because of it, so I suppose it hit a raw nerve. And I have been castigated for much less then typical's post, thus leaving my hubris a little dented. Which may not be a bad thing ...
Ponders - if you'd explained that in the first place, I'd have modded the post. I thought you were winding us up. Super and I may be pretty decent Mods but we're not mind readers. Tewkes
I nearly lost my old job because of gingerism The ginger receptionist announced that she was pregnant by her black boyfriend. She was openly discussing possible baby names, but my suggestion "Terry The Chocolate Orange" nearly got me the tin-tac.
No wind-up, Tewkes. I take these matters seriously. Normally I would agree with your 'pretty decent' rating, but for now you are merely 'poor to moderate'. I shall let you know when the rating changes. Ponders
Alas, TC, it was most probably the black aspect of the pun that caused the stir. Very few people stick up for gingers.
Sorry you feel that way. Me and tewkes try to let the forum run itself as much as possible as most have been posting for years and we like to think we could trust all. As I said- if anyone does have a problem going forward then please PM us and let us know.
A source close to Richard Murray told an ex employee on another site that individual discussions are taking place with certain players at this moment. The current impression was that some members of our squad and their agents are being unrealistic in terms of their salary expectations, taking into account FFP and our dire financial circumstances. Evina was cited as a specific example. RM ..sorry..the source...went on to say that the bottom has fallen out of the wages demand below PL level, and that players and agents are slow to realise this.
Well I feel there is a sense of drift at the club, which will get worse the longer it goes on. All this arguing about whether it's Powell or Slater\Jiminez: they should all be working together to get the contract situation sorted, so that we have players and a manager who are committed to the club.
they wont look at contracts now. especially as we dont know what our budget is (e.g. what division we'll be in)
This could be it, but maybe talking to the players and reasuring them that they will be talked to may help, as the impression i get reading between lines of Powells comments and rumour that JJ wanted to talk to the board but was told no, which does no one any favours, even if its a empty promise may help morale
JJ wants to crack on with doing his job, instead of worrying about board meetings...!! I'm afraid I don't get the big hoo ha about players contracts coming to an end. I'm sure I'm not the only poster on here who has been on similarly short contracts in the past where works concerned. One way of the other, our players need to get their heads down and show they're worth keeping or earn themselves a move away. Quite frankly barring Morrison, Solly, Kermorgant and Church I would loose very little sleep at the news of any of our players moving on.
