I take hope from this. If he is drawing multiple players to him, there should be teammate, or two, totally unmarked, waiting to benefit. I also think he will scare a lot of defences, with his quick feet, which could (if he can learn to stay on his feet a bit, and not fall over for the softest of touches) earn us a few penalties.
Totally agree - he did go down with the 4 players around him but didn't get anything for it (and personally, I don't think it was a penalty anyway!) but eventually someone (and a number of someones, at that) is going to foul him because they'll know that he's tricky. He may not score many goals but he should, hopefully, make a hell of a lot of them.
Mane used to fall over at the slightest touch and rarely got anything. Once he sussed that out he became virtually impossible to knock off the ball. A lot of his chances came from him being tough.
Must be gutted now, losing to a relegation threatened side and a worse team than you. Never mind. Perhaps your players showed a bit of your attitude and thought it would be easy. By the way who was the young lad who came on to I think the right side of midfield. Going to be some player.
You are not in anywhere near trouble, have to say very impressed with the way you play. Your only problem I could see was a goalscorer if your new signing does that for you, you will be top 10 with ease.
Yeah, our two main goalscorers were injured last night plus we've got the new lad in so that should see an upturn in results. Good luck for staying up.
I literally said in my message you just quoted that there are no easy games in this league haha! And yes, I am gutted at losing to a relegation threatened side that have a worse team than us. As I stated before the game, the only player I really envy in your squad is Sigurdson, and he proved the difference between the two sides with a goal and an assist. That is Josh Sims. He has a bright future ahead of him and deserves to start more often. Thought boufal showed your defence to be susceptible also.
No it was Sims, very impressed with him, mind you he was up against Naughton. No looks a real good one for the future.
Did you see the goal we scored at Anfield, last week? Sims was the one who ran the ball 70 yards or so. Shows a lot of promise.
