The match against the mancs is now even more important. We simply have to get something out of it. 3 points would be good but we need at least a draw. A loss will mean they come within 2 points of us.
The fa are working on the next ref as we speak lol. Bound to be a hommer ref no doubt. Be happy with a draw if it wasnt so obvious we will get nothing in our favour in the game.
Maybe English is your second language (not unusual for a Unitard fan -see what I did there?), but that statement is grammatically correct in the context of an answer to your point that you only pay referees, but don't threaten them with violence.
I see what you mean. Whether fair or not (I think English refs are just crap or/and cowards), we can't go into the match believing that they have an advantage and that they have the 3 points. A draw or a win will both maintain (or increase) the gap between us AND break their winning run.
Most concerned the attempts to deflect from being caught out on camera persistently singing Hillsborough chants by pretending that Liverpool fans sung about Munich (they didn't) and would do again at OT (a self-fulfilling prophecy).
Just watched the highlights on MOTD. Obviously you don't see the entire game but thought that Sunderland were good value for their draw. Looked like Migs had a good game....couldn't do anything about the pens. Also looked like we missed Hendo badly.
Saw the game on the stream.. Hendo was indeed a big miss, times when Can went AWOL from the position he had to play was alarming. He's better suited to a more attacking role in a MF 3 not a holding roll. He takes too long on the ball too, rather than getting and giving it quickly, he was ponderous on the ball. The last free kick that may not have been was also not necessary had he and Lucas been on the right side of the ball to begin with. Players looked leggy but then again, Sunderland also played on Saturday too. We controlled the game for most parts, their goalie had one of those days where he saves everything. Still 2nd, hopefully Spurs can do us and themselves a favour at least not lose to Chelsea. 2 points dropped, yes, but can't fault the lads effort and for vast majority of that game thought we played well. Give the 1st XI a nice rest now, wouldn't play any/most of them until the SF 1st Leg.. Also, Hendo, Matip and Coutinho should all be back for Untied away!
Not too bothered about the result. It's frustrating we took the lead twice but we've played three matches in eight days and two matches in less than 44 hours. The way we play, to ask for high intensity for all those matches and to win them is a tough ask. Plus Sunderland were at home and are desperate for points, i think its a decent result.
can's passing was dire but his positional sense was worse. he didn't help the cbs much at all. i agree with all you said and having seen that i'd be wondering. I agree also I said about 4 times the cbs should be eating the heads off the cms cos the screen was non existant.... and it was a foul by lucas btw. as you said if they'd bee goal side no free. I don't understand frankly the angst on here. we gain a point in the end of the day. If cheslea win fine thats up to them. for all i know they could lose! I also agree wit hthe rest thing. I'm sure henderson and milner aint that serious and coutinho should be back shortly.
To be fair I wouldn't even call what Sunderland did on Sunday against burnley as playing. Looked like they all went home after 15 minutes and put their feet up!
The only consolation is, we were expecting a draw from either Everton's or city game we won both. However, to win the league Sunderland's game is one we are expected to win.
