Well that one's easy. When the money is available, transfers are completely Wenger's responsibility, and everyone to do with Arsenal has said as much.

His Denver Nuggets also just allowed their general manager -- who had just been named Executive of the Year -- walk because they didn't want to give him a raise (he had been one of the lowest-paid GMs in the NBA), and fired the reigning Coach of the Year because he wanted a contract extension. "Cheap" isn't the half of it.

But AW said in the Summer that we were financially restricted in recent years when IG had been saying every year we had money to spend, so who do you believe ?
Unless you work inside the club and are aware of specifics, it's impossible to know for sure...

I'd keep Wenger and Gazidis, bring back Dein and ship out the rest of the board to the old folks home <ok>

Also, people are forgetting, we can't just get rid of Kroenke, like we can with Wenger, Gazidis etc.

    Kroenke owns us.

Doesn't this summer answer the question though?

Unless we secure Suarez and a top notch midfielder, I don't think any last minute buys will vindicate Wenger's transfer policy this summer. We've started the season unprepared and undermanned.

Kroenke is just being scapegoated because people don't want to blame the man responsible for this truly disastrous and embarrassing Summer.

Kroenke is actually what you want an owner to be for a financially stable club (that can afford to invest from its own earnings). A guy that selects knowledgable people (and hopefully the right people) to run the club, and doesn't get involved in the day-to-days.

You can only fault him for not replacing Gazidis for example, if you think he hasn't been doing his job properly.

But yes I agree, there is a pattern around here to excuse Wenger of any wrongdoing, when most people with access to the club say he has tremendous power in the club compared to other managers in other clubs.

Thank you. We've had issues way before Stan had major shares in the company. You would think our problems started with his introduction to the club, but there were issues way before that.

I'm waiting for the usual rhetoric "we had to pay for a new stadium, sugar daddies of other clubs changed the landscape of football" blah blah blah

Not sure on the rules, but Fenerbache have received a ruling banning them from European competition due to match fixing allegations.
The punishment is pending an appeal, and im not sure when the appeal hearing is....
My question is.....if you lose the qualifier, and Fenerbache were subsequently banned from the tournament, is there a chance your club could be reinstated?

It would make a mockery of the whole event if this was true.

The appeal is due to be heard on the 28th, after the 2nd leg or something.

It's the day after the match and the day before the draw. I think either you'll be reinstated or a Turkish team will take the place, otherwise the draw cannot take place. You would be in pot 1, Salzburg or an other Turkish team probably pot 3/4. So another playoff is out of the question.
