Joselu.... great. Another **** striker we'll struggle to flog in a year when he's proven how **** he is. I don't think anyone would be surprised if we finished 20th, but I'm going to pray to the shearer statue we climb to the lofty 16th I predicted.
Claims again that the wage limits are holding us back. Boggles the mind - for all Ashley's "apology" he's not exactly chomping at the bit to make up for it all. "Sorry, Rafa, you've got to get rid of unsaleable players first. Yep, I was part responsible for us signing such garbage. No, I'm not going to make up for it." If it were me, I'd be buying them all out of their contracts now just to get them out. Maybe we will come 1st Sept. At least that way when we desperately need reinforcements we'll have another Sky payment in the bank and a big gap in the wage bill which may be enough to stay up.
The only thing I would say is Stoke are looking to sign Jese Rodriguez off Real Madrid who is an infinetley better player, can we not compete to get him in? Especially as he will know Rafa well from his time there...
Yeh I don't think we need to go back to buying players that seem to be living off being rated a future star by the likes of Fifa and Footy Manager When we were last doing that we ended up with ****e like Santon/Doumbia/Luuk De Jong and Mbiwa
Stoke have sold Arnautovic and a couple of others and supposedly selling Imbula, they've barely spent a penny in the window. Hughes has a knack of pulling a name you'd never associate with Stoke out of the bag, it's very odd, but it works. The lad you're buying I didn't even know he played for Stoke.
And then some. Joselu's like an impulse buy, when I'd rather have kept Murphy. It's when you get home you realise you didn't really need a fondue set, even if it was a fiver.
Not really impulsive. More like grim acceptance of what we can manage given the constraints that Mike Ashley is having the transfer team work under. Low transfer funds are causing us to scrape around and this is apparently being exacerbated our absolute wage ceiling. This is something like £70,000 per week which is ruling out no end of options, even when we could afford the fee. It's being reported for example that we were in for Sandro Ramirez before Everton and were happy to meet his low release clause but he wanted 120k per week. Shame we're forking out reasonably high wages on Rivierre, Saivet, Lazaar, Hanley, Krul.
