Southampton fans will hope this one will not a repeat of last Tuesday after their team lost away to Walsall (1-0). This weekend however Southampton picked themselves up and travelled to Colchester, where they achieved to pick up 3 Points after winning 2-0. A deflected Rickie Lambert free-kick fell to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who struck from close range to put Southampton ahead. Colchester were reduced to 10 men when David Mooney was dismissed for pushing Danny Butterfield. Second Half Southampton Captain , Dean Hammond scored against his former side and helped Southampton win against 10 man Colchester. Yeovil – aka The Glovers Yeovil have played 17 games away this season and have only won 5 , one of which came recently against Tranmere ..winning 1-0 thanks to Oli Johnson 77th minute volley to secure a away win . Oli Johnson who is on loan from Norwich. Yeovil have not got a mass amount of goal scorers – present top goal scorer for Yeovil is Dean Bowditch with a respectable 8 goals. please log in to view this image Dean Bowditch -celebrates after scoring! KingslandSFC thoughts: After a good win this weekend, I think this will re-ignite our motivation to push for more wins in order to contend for play off / potential automatic places. I would also stick with the starting XI that played against Colchester. My prediction on the score .... 3-0 As many members has already stated, for some weeks St Mary's has not been as buzzing as it has been ...therefore if you not doing anything Tuesday evening apart from making Pancakes ...GET DOWN TO ST MARYS! To those who are going : Let go “flipping mental” and get behind the lads for the full 90 Mins!! So Saints Fans... Thoughts on Team Selection / Prediction on the Score?
Great post again Think we should stick with the same team except possibly swap Jaidi for Martin. Jaidi didn't sound great today and is probably tired after playing 3 games in 7 days and Martin deserves a chance as he looks class everytime he plays. Hopefully we get a decent crowd and make a great atmosphere as it is has not been great at home lately. Score prediction: 3-1
Martin in for the clearly exhausted Jaidi and otherwise unchanged. Get Lallana on the ball and we'll win. End of.
I think the most important thing to do on Tuesday is to try an convert one of the early chances that we create and then keep our" foot on the pedal" . We all know how Yeovil will come down here to keep it tight and try and frustrate both the team and supporters ,an early goal,or two, would mean they have to change tactics and hopefully leave gaps at the back. But if the early goal does not come we,as supporters ,must try to stay positive and not get frustrated because I am sure this does tranfer to the players. Anyway I will be there shouting myself silly . Any win is a good win but I am hoping for more . 3-0 saints
Dont care what the score is as long as we achieve 6 points from the next two games, both will be very difficult as both teams need points for very different reasons. Having said that a point on saturday with still 2 games in hand over them would'nt be the end of the world, but i still want 6 please!!
I am going for 3 nil to Saints on Pancake Day. We are going to "batter" them. I think that their performance will be total "crepe". In fact, I think that their whole team is well practised in the art of flipping pancakes without utensils. And their goalies a total lemon.
Don't you like like my pancake yolks? Have you had " un oeuf" of them? Ah well, time for me to shrove off! Still think 3-0 to us though.
I'm quietly confident of seeing Yeovil off, I just hope the team are 100% focused on this game, and not thinking about the Bournemouth game on Saturday, otherwise we could be in trouble. Need to use Lallana and Chambo, and I think we should unlock them easy enough.
