Hello all and welcome back to another match day thread by Saintsfcfan! We really are on the final straight of the season, with Saints looking to have a major say in the race for the top four. Having faced Liverpool at Anfield, Saints remaining fixtures include home games against Arsenal and Manchester United, making these fixtures in particular an interesting one for the neutral. Saints go into the game on the back of fine solid display at Anfield, as they kept a fourth clean sheet against Liverpool this season. This was certainly helped by Fraser Forster going on a goalkeeping rampage, and the defence remembering that their DNA also includes bricks and mortar. Saints didn't offer a huge deal going forward however, and have scored just two goals in their previous 4 games. It should be noted that these games have been against the best teams in the country, and Hull. Arsenal come into the match having beaten Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, a game in which they played unusually well. They'll be confident of another win, whilst Saints will be hoping to avenge the 2-1 loss at the start of the season, in which Arsenal reaped the rewards of this seasons abysmal standard of refereeing. Saints also lost 5-0 in the FA cup, but this was with the fielding of a reserve team, having just reached the EFL Cup final. My Line-up: Forster Cedric Stephens Yoshida Bertrand Romeu Davis JWP Tadic Redmond Gabbiadini Prediction: Its a match thread by me so only one outcome. 6-0 Saints. In all seriousness 2-1 Saints, reckon we can do them. COYR!!!!!!
Wednesday 10 May 7.45pm Southampton v Arsenal (Sky Sports) Referee: Jonathan Moss Assistants: E Smart, S Bennett Fourth official: M Jones
Saints' last league loss at home against Arsenal was in 2003. We'll smash seven bells out of them. Vin
Hopefully Welbeck won't enjoy the freedom he did for the FA Cup game. Need to link the player better between defense and attack in this one. Redmond for Boufal my one change

We're always good against Arsenal, especially at SMS. That cup loss was an aberration, we've played with our third team. I reckon we'll win this. Cuco to score a tap in from 40 yards.
