Offer Leverkusen Can for Hernandez on a straight swap.

Sell Sturridge for big money and have him as back up.

Christ, even Alan Smith said we should have had a pen, and he once watched a ritual execution of Suarez two yards away from the ref and said he was lucky to not get a yellow card for diving.

But there were no contentious decisions last night. I suspect that even BBC Salford and the MUFA realised there was no need for any.:emoticon-0108-speec

Yeah, I think it was dragback on Firmino. That said, I never pay attention to the 43 a game he says should be given against us, so I'm not seriously citing this one.

having seen lucas clear a guy out with the wrong foot barely touching the ball and getting away with it there is no way that ref was giving any pens.

Just save us the time and tell us who you're going to replace him with, and we'll get him instead #winwin

Lucas was bloody awful. Bullied off the ball and fell over himself. No where near the quality of protection we require. He was good in a very poor Liverpool team a few years ago. I'm grateful for his service during those times and his professionalism. But we need someone in the middle there instead of him and Can.

    Keep it brief..
The better team won not because we were ****e but because they were better, in defence, midfield and up top!
Yes we were missing Matip, Henderson, Mane and Coutinho didn't start.. but I still expect the rest that were selected to have played better, much better!
    Well done Southampton!
Only shinning light is that we didn't get beat and put out of the tie, losing 1-0 was daylight robbery!

    I have to say:

    a) on the night they were better yes. they had an actual plan and stuck with it. teams have all figured out pressing our two cbs is pointless as they can simply close down clyne milner and whoever is in cm and they will just back pass. the two cbs can't pass. since henderson got injured nobody sits between they two CBs and tries to make any play for us. But southampton identified areas to get in behind us too and should have scored more as a result.

    b) overall they were average. decent pace form redmond and jay rod but after that van dijk is truely outstanding and the rest not great

    c) we played awful and we were pnderous and the two supposed cms left lovren and klavan to do all the passing and then they ALSO left milner comepltely isolated v two players. Our midfield was so so poor.

We were more poor than Southampton were good. At the risk of jinxing it (I'll say it before others here ;) ) that midfield surely cannot be as bad on Sunday. If they were keeping something back, then we've got nothing to worry about.

no can was not holding anything back. neither was lucas... theres nothing more in either tank.

wijnaludm wasn't great so i'm hoping henderson knows he's simply got to get on the pitch this weekend

Apart from being thrown to the floor hulk hogan style it was a good call. Fergie would have been proud of that decision
