Not bothered who we get, within reason. Virtually every manager we have getting since before Keane I have been at least ok with. Maybe an uninspiring choice might be the way forward? Doesnt matter who we get as manager really, its the higher uppers which are the problem.
The owner has apparently been negotiating to sell the club for at least a month so he may well have been told to go off on holiday but be prepared to fly back if circumstances change. It's hard to judge the guy without being on the inside and knowing what's going on.
Absolute sack of **** manager. I was at the Villa game when we were trailing 0-4 at half time. He wouldn't allow his teams to attack. His brand of football was arrogant, horrible to watch and ineffective. His signings were appalling. One of the worst we've had in the last few years. I have no idea how anyone could possibly want him back... Especially considering he's failed everywhere he's gone since and is now managing in a mickey mouse league.
It's looking like it's McInnes. So let's get him in, back him and get the squad sorted. Hopefully they give him a chunk of the Pickford money for players
He'll have to. We don't have enough players to get through the year and the club is still an asset he owns. He's not likely to want to drive it's value any further down. It needs sensible investment. He knows that. He's no fool.
So with the shock news that Del Boy has turned us down, who next? I'm starting to think we either go for a bold move and give Kevin Phillips a go, or we promote Robbie Stockdale into the role until the ownership debacle is resolved.
Latest odds: Simon Grayson 5/4 Kevin Phillips 7/2 Derek McInnes 7/2 Nigel Pearson 6/1 Ally McCoist 9/1 Paul Lambert 10/1 Billy Davies 10/1 John O'Shea 16/1 Czeslaw Michniewicz 18/1 Sam Allardyce 20/1 Ryan Giggs 20/1 Stefan Schwarz 25/1 Roy Keane 28/1 Aitor Karanka 28/1 Nigel Clough 28/1 Roy Hodgson 28/1 Scraping the barrel would be an understatement.
Thats a bloody depressing list of candidates in the betting now, we need to move fast to identify the next target and get them in as soon as possible now. No doubt that taking so long with the manager is going to impact on us potentially missing out on transfer tatgets later in the summer so we need to get this sorted. The more experienced candidates seem to be poor options, i know some seem to like pearson but i don't really buy into that. In my opinion its starting to look like taking a chance on someone with no experience might be the best option that we've got
Still think the season he was in charge when we got to the cup final is probably my favourite top flight season in the last 20-25 years! But I agree - after that season finished he was utter ****e!!
I love superkev. But, for that reason, I don't really want him managing the club. If things go wrong and he turns out to be poor at the management side it'll be one of those "I love him but I want him to leave" situations and I don't want that to happen
