If that's what became the White Tun and now McColls store they have done some major flood defense works so hopefully wil now have stopped it. I also now live in Witton but have known it for years as my late sister lived there from about 1967 when she married a Witton lad. Mind you she didn't move far cos we lived at Framwellgate Moor then.

    Does it ever snow there?

I can picture all the locals running outside like it's a miracle, dancing in the snow, and you just opening your front door then closing it again and going back to bed.

Snowed all night and they closed the kids school. I assume as the teachers couldn't get in cos all the kids in a walking distance. Roads were bad though so had to get a train into Manchester. No doubt I will come down in a virus next couple of days having mixed with the public on transport.

There was about half an inch in my village. Not even enough to make my car dirty on the drive to work.

We had 3 inches in Surrey, but it's all melting now. Just hope it doesn't freeze tonight, as it's a bastard in the hills round here...

Fortunately, Britain does cocks like it does cocks, which is why all the lasses round here walk like John Wayne...;)
