Sissoko finally admits he wants away

Moussa Sissoko has declared his intention to depart Newcastle United this summer, stating: “I want to leave so I hope there will be no problem for me to find my happiness at another club.”

The 26-year-old was handed the captain’s armband by Rafa Benitez for the final six games of the season but insists that will all his “heart” he believes he must leave the club in order to continue his international ambitions following the Magpies’ relegation.

What’s more the French international has described Arsenal, who have frequently been linked with a move for Sissoko, as “beautiful” and has explained that he hopes to play for an English club in the Champions League.
Speaking during an extensive interview with Foot Mercato about his future, Sissoko said of Benitez’s desire to keep him: “It is flattering that a coach like him, a great coach, wants to keep me.

“But I think he knows that I have got to a level where playing in the Championship would be difficult for me.
“I must continue my development. I aspire to play in the biggest clubs in Europe and continue to be in the France team.

“I think he [Benitez] understands.

“Today, if I play in the Championship, I [can] forget about the France team and many other things.
“I have already had a discussion with him.
“My representatives will have a discussion with him.
“I think he knows what I want, where I want to go.
“So I hope there will be no problem for me to find my happiness in another club.”

 

Tell me where and I'll drive him there.

I can see him going for £12m.
Possibly to Chelsea or Arsenal.
If it is Chelski... I'd take a few mill and Bamford.

Why take Bamford? Is he better than Perez or Armstrong who are both similar in player? No! Did he actually play last season? Even Pardew didn't rate him!

I agree with Sissoko, He is a top player, one of the best, he deserves Champions League, Euro's and World Cups! Because of that we shouldnt accept anything less than £20m! As he said he is a top player and top players have top fees!

 

He's far, far better than that. Did you know he's a French international? And he likes Liverpool, who value him at £35m+

 

Have also heard on the "wool vine" that Swansea see him as Shelveys replacement after Liverpool have finished with him.

 

They must be baa-aaarmy.

Hopefully we'll put a sell on fee clause in the contract.

Thought Benitez dragged a fair bit more out of him. No great loss though. By "I hope there is no problem" he means I hope they'll let me go cheap. I doubt that will be the case. I know if I had 10m-15m burning a hole, he wouldn't be the one I'd want to spend it on.

I can see PSG, Arsenal or the like signing him to warm the bench and come on when teams are tired. His powerful running would be useful then. Its basically what happens for France, he rarely starts.
