Because it seems Carroll is nothing without Barton, looking back at many goals.

    Carrolls 1st v Villa - Barton corner
Carroll v Wolves - Barton free kick
Carroll v West Ham - Barton cross
Carroll v Arsenal - Barton free kick
Carroll v Blackburn - Barton free kick
Carroll v Liverpool - Barton would 2 challenges before playing the ball to Carroll.
Carroll v Man City - Barton corner

All hail the maker of £35m, JOEY BARTON!

Without Barton, Carroll wouldn't have had most of his goals.. And Jose passed it to Carroll for the goal against Liverpool :p

In all seriousness, it's their midfield and backline I've thought needed improvement more (seeing that they got Suarez too). I won't pretend they don't have a great strikeforce, but that 58 million could've gone a lot further shoring up their glaring holes.

Yes but Barton won the ball twice, gave it to Carroll, who switched it to Jose, who gave it back to him to hit in. HE IS NOTHING!

    IMO Carroll is bollocked.
Nolan was probably his best friend at Newcastle and he said so himself he doesnt know anyone outside of Newcastle.
Carroll and Barton are abit like Rooney and Valencia, once Valencia got injured Rooreys goals dried up, same thing will happen with Carroll.

Barton, Tiote and Enrique are our main players this season. The mercenary is replaceable. Well, in the summer.

Barton would never go to Liverpool. He's an Evertonian

Yeah I was just saying to someone on an Independent article Barton has been our best player all season. Closely followed by Tiote and Enrique. Carroll was the top scorer but as has been said, without Barton's incredible passes he wouldnt have scored nearly all of them.

This transfer will finally expose Gerrard for the sack of **** that he is. Perhaps Barton will start to get the credit he deserves. Barton is our most important player, Enrique our best player. Coloccini, Tiote, Nolan and Carroll were all pretty much equally important, Carroll just grabbed the headlines because he was young, English and adding the finishing touches.

Carroll has missed four games this season, and (barring stoppage time :)) we've won all four of them. The club is much, much bigger than him.

Exactly. Compare this to the games Barton missed...

  20. Brilliant article. Carroll doesn't realise that it was Barton that made most of his goals. Gerrard = pants. Barton = sex god.
