Cocktails at Dawn back down to his last winning mark of 145, the Grand National weight is secured, time for a confidence boosting win in the Betbright Chase and a nice purse of nearly 57 grand
Now then Bumper King, I remember you posting up The Hiking Viking the other day and he was a non-runner. 33/1 for the Kempton bumper, obviously Champ will take all the beating but worth an e/w dabble?
Yes. Two that take my eye in the Chepstow bumper: LAD OF LUCK 7/1 who is a half brother to Let's Dance and SHIROCCODEE 20/1 who is a half brother to Ballykan
SorrY to put a flat horse up so close to Cheltenham MUTAKAYYEFF- in the winter derby is surely an absolute wheel barrow job at 5/4- that price won't be around tomorrow morning! Highest rated horse ever to run in the race (if I'm not mistaken) strongest form by miles and Haggas doesn't mess around will be spot on for the race and can't see him getting beat!! And if you feel brave enough- as I do after a couple of pints ,have loaded it up with Charli Parcs for the double pays about 5/2 - just loading up the war chest for 3 weeks time
Beware the bumper winner carrying a penalty. He was impressive the last day but Grey Warbler got beat even easier today and had a run under its belt. If there is a very good debutante in the race it will go close, IF..!
Oh I agree Champ is an awful bet at 2/5. Had an e/w dabble on The Hiking Viking and also doubled him e/w with Cocktails at Dawn
1.15 Kemp - Crimson Ark - Running a huge race on chase debut but bad mistake ended his race. Looks to be on a decent mark still over hurdles. 1.50 Kemp - Ibleo - Beat Don Bersey who has done well over here when in France, decent price against the jolly. 3.00 Kemp - River Wylde - Henderson described him as their fastest 2mile novice. Considering Lough Des Spirits form im happy to take on the fav. 2.10 Newc - Meadowcroft Boy - Travelled nicely on reappearance before fitness showed when they sprinted for home. Should finally come on for that run. Decent pull with the winner that day. Eidar - Gevrey Chambertain - Scudamore's only ride at Newcastle.
Plenty of interest in THE HIKING VIKING but 33's still just available. TRIOLO D'ALENE is a fair old price at Kempton tomorrow.
Took 9/1 on Meadowcroft Boy last night and plenty of blue on Oddschecker this morning. I trust the forum wheelbarrows are out again
Backed the hiking viking at 28s this morning..worth an each way dabble. In the betbright chase have backed Viva Steve 8s each way. Think this one is an improver ..won well first time out and was going well for a long way at Warwick. Shorter trip should suit and an interesting jockey booking.
Streets of Promise- in the Eider 20-1 e/w Three Musketeers in the betbright 7-1 2 small singles and a even smaller ew double
Mister Spingsprong....what a beautiful name for a steed by the way. 4.30 Newcastle. Got a feeling this one has been laid out for local connections. Hope they have a spiffing day because I'm going to borrow Sticks wheelbarrow for this one!! Goes on the ground, steps back up to 20f and in Henry Brooke we have faith!! Also interested in Module. 4.15 Chepstow. Would pick these up and carry them home if back to his best. Three Muskateers is another who needs to bounce back, but will take that chance. Wabanaki. 4.50. Chepstow. Looks to have a fine chance on hurdle form if he gets his act together. Crucial Role. 5.20 Chepstow. Ran a nice race at Ludlow lto. I'd be interested to hear Sticks views regarding this one???? Good luck all!
Small e/w dabble on East Indies in the Adonis at 66/1. Finished a reasonable 3rd at Fontwell giving 7lbs to Rainbow Dreamer (subsequently ran Defi Du Seuil to 9 lengths in the Finesse Hurdle) in a race where the slow early pace didn't suit East Indies at all and he pulled far too hard in the early stages. When he was given his head up the home straight he fairly flew into the lead but couldn't sustain his effort having pulled so hard early on. I'm surprised Gary Moore hasn't put some sort of headgear on to help him settle (maybe saving that for next time at Cheltenham?) but today's race should be run at a true pace which will suit East Indies much better.
