QPR look to offload Sandro on a free By David McIntyre 03/01/2017 please log in to view this image QPR are increasingly optimistic they will offload Sandro during this month’s transfer window. Rangers will not ask for a fee for the Brazilian midfielder and are desperate for him to find a club rather than continue paying his huge wages for the remaining months of his contract, which expires in the summer Sandro has had fitness issues since his £6m move from Tottenham in 2014 and has started only 29 league matches for the R’s. Several previous efforts to find him a new club failed, but there has been interest in him in recent weeks and as a result there is much more of an expectation than during previous windows that he will move on. His representatives have sought confirmation from the club that he can go on a free transfer, which Rangers are taking as an indication that the Sandro camp believe a move is in the offing. Rangers held talks with intermediaries from the Chinese Super League about Sandro in October. So far there though has been no sign of firm interest from Chinese clubs – instead it is Tjaronn Chery who has attracted a lucrative offer from the Far East.
Off with his head as my Dad used to say - we need some of those soldiers:- please log in to view this image
Sandro is a lazy ass skiver not interested in playing ! Thats why nobody wants him. The sooner he's out of the club the better.
Terms agreed, free transfer, 3.5 yr contract - they must be crazy - just that little question of the medical still to come. £10 million + wages for 29 games - Daniel Levi, with Redknapp complicity, laughed all the way to the bank on that one, and many others. At least the Standard got the news headline right:- QPR flop Sandro to join Turkish club on a free transfer please log in to view this image On the way out: Sandro QPR flop Sandro will be allowed to leave on a free transfer this month and is currently in Turkey talking to two clubs over a move. Sandro joined Rangers from Tottenham for £10million in the summer of 2014, but the injury-prone midfielder has started just 29 league games for the club since then. The 27-year-old’s current deal runs out in the summer but QPR are prepared to let him leave on a free transfer now in order to get his £40,000-a-week salary off the wage bill and Standard Sport understands the Brazil international is holding talks with Osmanlispor and Antalyaspor. Rangers need to get rid of players to raise funds before new manager Ian Holloway can bring new signings in during the transfer window. http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/sandro-to-leave-qpr-on-a-free-transfer-as-club-look-to-offload-40000aweek-wages-a3434456.html
Just hope he's got his visa sorted out to be able to "work" in Turkey........ 27 year old....really? the way he tracked the Wolves player the other day was more 47 than 27....... Jeez TF really did have his trousers pulled down by Kneecap on that one...... Edit...a quick calculation shows that since he's been with us he's "earned" stg£5.2m in wages, or close to £180k per game.....what a waste of money.
I do love that the media are choosing to describe him as a 'Brazil international'. A quick glance on his wiki page and I see they are almost entirely appearances in friendly matches. One competitive game, a qualifier. None at all since 2012. Good luck to him, but really good luck to whichever club takes him from us.
Perhaps, like Chery, he experienced a troubled childhood in Brazil and needs to make hay while the sun shines?
