Have to admit to being a tad confused/dirty when I saw Hannah Montana twerking and then swinging naked on a wrecking ball. Never used to see that in the kids TV show with my daughter
One of the best programmes on the radio is Radio 3's "World on 3." It brought to my attention Ojos de Brujo, un grupo de Barcelona. Here is one of their tracks.
This, from the Average White Band, must be one of the great introductions. It should get all us hippsters "doin'da ting."
There really is only one Jim, but sacrilege though it may be, Ian Astbury had a pretty good hack at making it two!
I had a meeting with Jamie and his manager Hamish many moons ago about putting a release out on this 'surround sound' platform called 3D60 that I was working on. Sadly the main brain behind it, a lovely chap called Mike Brady, died from a superbug in hospital before it could really take off.
The boy done good! Saw this lot a few years back, and took my "kids" and their partners. They were blown away. Manzarek was awesome. Yes, and Astbury did a really good job. The band had to rename itself after this brief sojourn, and there was a lot of talk from Manzarek about writing new material. It didn't happen. How could you create songs without Morrison? If you like The Doors, try and see Doors Alive. Great tribute band
That sounds like an interesting concept. My dad has a surround sound set-up, which is of course great for movies, but music is something which doesn't generally tap into it. I guess it's not considered cost effective in today's streaming world. Continuing the days of the week theme
This was our pinnacle with it! http://www.quadraphonicquad.com/for...our-amp-The-Orb-in-3D60-Sound-rel-date-Oct-12
Nice, love that song. You don't see many songs these days that have a bit of social commentary running through them. The great Carole King wrote it iirc *it's almost a sequel to Pete Seegers' "Little Boxes" *
As you could probably guess from my naive post above, I'm not very au fait with the science of sound. Don't think my hearing is good enough to appreciate what my uneducated ears would regard as the subtle differences in recording. I do seem to recall watching Gilmour and The Orb perform a set at Glastonbury
My favourite Monkees song, hands down...manufactured they may have been, but they recorded some cracking pop songs.
