    Yeah, I'm happy with that.

Curious about the loan-to-buy element; I'm always pleased with those (so long as it's iron-clad...Toby), but it might also be to forestall the outlay until after a sale.

Left footed, 6'1", decent pace and strength. My lad says he's pretty decent on Fifa :emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

    Are you serious ?

"All I do is post my opinion." Isn't this what everyone does.

With regard to resulting to abuse what you do think your and Onionman's smart aleck posts have been.

The problem with this website is that you sit on your computer all day (almost 24 hours a day) spewing out snide remarks if someone has the temerity to disagree with yourself. At least I don't hind behind a nickname. It is particularly annoying because my remarks are, for the most part, in agreement with a number of other people posting. In the circumstances, I would suggest that I have been remarkably restrained.

No worries mate, sometimes it takes a couple posts going each way to clarify what's being said <ok>

I agree it's not black and white. But I believe we don't actually try all that hard to keep players, and really are pretty open to selling anyone (on an individual basis).

So to say there's *nothing* we can do is (imo) incorrect as we're not *hugely* interested in keeping them anyway. We'd rather sell them while their stock is high, rightly or wrongly.

Example being Virgil, if a club has contacted us (I'm certain they have), I doubt we're saying 'not for sale' but instead 'come back in the Summer'. Whether Virgil is pushing for it or not.

Best I can come up with for a comp is a sturdier pre-injury Jay, with better ball skills. Looked fairly handy the few times I've seen him, but best I can remember those all came in cameo appearances.

As for Gabbiadini, pretty happy with that agreement if it's correct.

No Ian, quite a large number of people try and have a discussion. I have with you several times but you usually don't come back with a counter comment. Go back and read the conversation between me and Schad - it was a back and forth expressing different opinions and commenting on the other persons points. It can happen.

I do sometimes make snide remarks but usually when I've been accused of being a happy clapper or a Puel Apologist (that was you - was that not snide?)

Isn't it a bit immature to tell Someone they're hiding behind a nickname? I'd guess 90% of us have that. It's actually quite sensible on a public forum where we don't know everyone.

Now, why don't we have a discussion, or are you going to fire out and disappear again until he next bad result? There has been several times I've responded to you (and sensibly) without any response. If you joined in, in two or three way discussions and perhaps with shorter posts so that it doesn't feel like just you "spewing" (using your words now) out your point, perhaps you'd see that it can be good for discussion here.

    Give it a go.

Morgan? Vic? Just two quick examples where we've said 'no' and if a player won't sign a new deal (Vic, Clyne) then there is nothing we can do.

In the past I quite enjoyed reading your posts. There are many different opinions and they all have worth.

I do not recall fatletiss or onionman or many others that refer to posters as odious little tw@
or name calling like that. Jeez we don't have to like each other but are all on here for one reason, we support the same team.

Morgan & Vic is the reason I put on an individual basis :)

As we clearly couldn't let them go due to other departures in the window.

But it proved the point. Have you thought about the opposite policy? Buy high and maybe have to offload low if they don't work out? I know what I'd prefer.

Any player is only tied for the maximum period of their contract.

It's an interesting model - and as others have said, it has served us well.

The problem with the 'stepping stone' model is that it goes so far against English football culture. Every football fan wants to dream that their club can compete to be the best.

With rising ticket prices, it's getting harder and harder for me to want to shell out hundreds of pounds to go and watch players that don't want to actually be here.

If we get the scouting consistently right, it can still be interesting. It's just a shame there's so little flair this season without Boufal.

Really don't know how anyone can say we lack ambition given what we as a club have achieved over the last 7 years, but hey ho, each to their own.
