Dear Cardiff Fans, A heartfelt plea from your long-suffering football supporter friends in London, SE7. After a mere ten games in League One, which have yielded a ridiculous two wins, we long suffering Charlton fans can take no more of Russell Slade, and his sh1t brand of 'football'. Specifically: 1. The negative sideways and backwards passing 2. Slade filling the team with defensive players. Does he cry "4-5-1" in his sleep? 3. The aimless hoofball "tactics" 4. The constant & bizarre 96th min substitutions. In return for taking Slade back, we offer you Tony Watt on loan again in part exchange, and will continue to pay his £15k a week wages. Thanks, The Slade Out Branch London SE7
If you think you've got troubles (and you obviously have as we warned), our situation is arguably far worse. We now have an inept manager that makes Slade look like Mourinho without hair. We are both in deep **** although I doubt Slade will get you relegated - Trollope will achieve that for us no question unless he's replaced PDQ.
Yes, sadly you were spot on about Slade. We literally cannot believe what a sh1t manager he is, in all aspects.
Incidentally Royston, I'd take Watt in a heartbeat if he could transform our turgid crap into something with a bit of pace and directness.
Tony Watt is currently at Hearts for what promises to be a typically short term stint. We are in the ridiculous situation where a club on its arse in League One (us) are paying Watt's wages so he can play for a Scottish Premier League club.
We will meet you there next season mate, providing you don't get promoted! I'd have Slade back in a heartbeat at the minute.
Things must be bad if Tan and genius go together in the same sentence! At least you boys are mid-table. The drop is inevitable for us if we don't get rid of Trollope now. How bad is the football under Slade? The bloke led us to an 8th place finish last season, but the football was utterly yawn worthy.
Slade's brand of football at Charlton - awful. Negative sideways football and team set up to play for a 0-0 draw every game. Sections of our support have turned on him already. We are not Orient & expect a bit better than 2 wins in 10 - Slade won't be with us long. A Cautious Colin.
Ahh the old sideways football and back passes, a style that we are too familiar with even still. Add a pinch of 'hoof the ball to the striker and hope he hits some luck' and you have what I call "yawn ball". Goodluck for the rest of the season mate
Good conversation lads. Clearly neither of us happy and desire early change. The opportunities will manifest themselves after this weekend during the international break. Just hope what we wish for isn't worse than we already have.
Warren Feeney was the worst striker I have ever seen in a City shirt....................................until Gounongbe & Zahore came along.
After an abject 1-0 home defeat by Rochdale yesterday, 14,000 Charlton fans booed Slade off, and worse "You don't know what you're doing" one of the politer chants aimed at the lump of lard He won't be with us much longer - will Trollope leave Cardiff before Slade leaves Charlton?
Looks like we're both in the **** through a series of inept managers appointed by equally inept owners. Not sure of the level of financial clout of your owners but ours is without question very substantial. Our problem is not necessarily all down to Tan though. OK, so he has a tight hold on the purse strings at the moment, but the decision making and recommendations of his board over here seem leave a lot to be desired. Slade was no doubt brought in here to do a job of paring the squad down, but keep the club in the Championship. Bar a fluke, there was no way he would have got us promoted. His time came and went and then the easy (and cheap) option of promoting his second in command Trollope has been a disaster. They've also brought in Trollope's old mentor Lennie Lawrence as support - nobody amongst the fan base has a clue what both are doing here except ****ing the playing side of the club right up **** creek. I sympathise with the dire stuff that Slade is serving up at Charlton, but if you want any sort of a feel good factor about him from us, we'd probably take him back and give you Trollope in exchange. Slade will probably keep you out of the bottom tier but we fear that with Trollope still here, we may well be joining you for next season.
Charlton's Belgian owner Roland Duchatelet is worth 860m Euros. He hasn't attended a Charlton game since October 2014, & controls the club via a live TV feed from Belgium and a handful of entrusted Belgian minions including a 32 year old Belgian CEO and a 24 year old Belgian Chief Scout. It sounds like something from a Bond film but sadly for us at 18th in League One it is true Slade was only appointed Charlton manager this summer after Chris Wilder refused to work without written guarantees over interference. Slade was happy to work with only verbal assurances from an owner who had already appointed 6 Charlton managers in 22 months. We all now understand why - Slade is a lower league plodder who has lost the crowd already . Playing 4-5-1 this week at home to Oldham and Rochdale has sealed Slade's fate.
We are both looking bad this season and can sympathize with one another. Fingers crossed it picks up a bit . I am genuinely shocked that Paul Trollope still has a job to walk into this morning!!
