Incidentally, talking of progress, I see Mr. Brady is still with us, much to your surprise, no doubt - I´m still betting on him staying, because, if for no other reason, it´ll soon be too late to spend any money we might get for him, anyway. ( I´m afraid I know Norwich City too well) But we´ll all be wiser in a week or so.
With Burnley, Bournemouth, Sunderlnd and Villa all showing great interest, I wouldn't be so sure. And besides, no worries if we don't spend it now - you get more 'bang for your buck' in the summer anyway. And fingers crossed, we might even have a clued-up new manager by then, who would spend it in a wise fashion
I agree that we don't need another AM like Lansbury or Hourihane, although the latter also plays at CM. Villa fans must be thrilled that they spent £14m on 30 year old McCormack and are now having to buy two more players to replace him. Though I liked Olsson, one of his weaknesses was in failing to cut out crosses because of his height. Zeegelaar or Meredith would have an advantage there, as both are over 6 feet tall. It's a delicate balance that needs to be achieved between an attacking FB and a defensive one though. Drury was very good at the latter, but didn't contribute much to the attack (excepting that final goal in the comeback to draw 4-4 with Boro!).
Speaking of FBs, the Daily Star is now linking us with Amari'i Bell, a LB who plays for Fleetwood Town in League One, having been released by Birmingham in 2015. They also say that Brighton and Villa are also tracking him. Doesn't seem likely to me.
Plus Swansea and Burnley both after Pritchard. Christ, at this rate, selling Olsson, Brady & Pritchard, we'll be able to afford a whole new defensive foursome - over to you Jezza.....
Plus probably Canos. Soon AN will be playing with no wingers, no strikers, and no competent defenders or GK! Our CM will have their work cut out!
David Freezer @davefreezer Still find it very odd that #NCFC are being linked with League One left-backs when they already have one on the books in Harry Toffolo.
Who's on airport duty? http://sportwitness.co.uk/player-heading-norwich-e3-5m-deal-flying-today/ Zeegelaar on his way?
I'm on pastel de nata please log in to view this image duty at Morrison's cake aisle, in case he misses the Portuguese high life on arrival - or needs Dutch courage before trying to talk sense to poxy Moxey
AN did not deny the Zeegelaar links, but evaded a confirmation that it was happening: “If the deal had been done we would be talking about it now and you would be the first to know. Nothing has been finalised with anything. We have a whole host of targets we are looking at. I am not going to confirm whether he is one or not but we are looking at players on that left side with Martin’s departure and the amount of speculation surrounding Robbie (Brady). It is only natural we would be looking for left-sided players.” He did, however, deny that there had been any approaches about Pritchard.
Burnley in for Brady for £13m is a rumour. IF this turns out to be true then I think he will go. So that could be Olsson, Brady and Canos on their way out. Pritchard rumour seems strange when he has only been at the club for 6 months but then if AN has agreed to this transfer then anything he does represents his poor judgement over the past year.
