As usual footballing authorities are looking at meddling with the rules...again. Some make sense but some are just plain ridiculous. Have a poll of some of the ideas to see what might attract consideration. Tick those which you would be in favour of trialling. Not the 60 minutes no way, would definitely stop following football if that happened. http://www.skysports.com/football/n...acks-radical-ifab-proposals-for-football-laws
I'd prefer a "clearer and more consistent definition" of the offside rule Anything that relies on a subjective opinion is not a rule, should go back to offside or not regardless of whether your "interfering" with play...
I was reading about this and Zola is quoted as being in favour of the 30 minute half with a clock stopped each time there is any break in play, I think teams will quickly work out how to time waste keeping the ball in play and run down the clock, I don't like this idea at all, one thing I would change is all the mess about offside and active/inactive, go back to a simpler format so you are either on or off full stop.
time wasting is a massive thing mind ...even well ball is out of play ,also refs fooking about ...not much game time . i agree totally of a new system
Dear Auntie Jim Would the fans have too leave earlier or would they not know due to their inability to tell the time? Yours concerned
The only things that need changing:- - Clearer offside rule - Automatic red cards and bans for players that dive - Bring back physical contact. Tackle from behind where a player wins the ball should not be a foul. Only serious physical fouls should get a red card - Ten yard penalty for dissent following awarding of a free kick a la rugby - No red cards where a penalty is awarded unless above.
I'd like to see a sin bin system trialled in place of yellow cards. The current system isn't fit for purpose, with players basically allowed one foul 'on the house' and any bans for indiscretions being served against different opponents to that which the offences were committed. It's utterly ridiculous when you think about it.
Could go with this although I would still retain red cards for the more serious offences or multiple yellows. Similar logic to the RU type system.
Oh yes, you could still be sent off for the whole match if the offence was serious enough. Or indeed sent off for the remainder of the game for a second offence.
Dear Mr Groot, I appreciate your concerns about the inability of the chronologically challenged Mackem species. However due to centuries of inbreeding they have developed a unique sensory, subliminal ability to leave a football match two thirds into the game. This amazing, unfathomable instinct is triggered by exposure to watching sh!te which has been provided at no little cost over a period of time by the intrepid Mr Short. When Mr Short eventually considers his outstanding work is fulfilled his legacy will remain through the multi digited sh!teometer which will remain at the Stadium of Light. Yours Dr Baldhead.
I agree. I think the refs watch stopping when ball out of play, players injured etc as proposed should still happen but still have the lazy beggars actually play 90 mins
some people are just frightened of change simple as .. the game in my view is getting so frustrating , knowing the amount of time wasting going on .
