I watched the highlights just now on YouTube, there wasn't many of those, although lukaku did miss a free header close in.

I don't think anyone would mind having him back, it's the cost that people think is ridiculous. Would we have him back for £15m? Yes most likely. That's what I truly believe he is worth. We laughed all the way to the bank when Everton paid us £28m for him and he hasn't been that value of striker. The reason why they are quoting so much is a) they don't have anyone better and b) they know they overpaid and the only way to save face is for Chelsea to spend a stupid amount of money.
I for one and glad we haven't actually tabled a bit.

    What a crock of ****.

He's a 1 in 2 PL striker who's had 4 full seasons top flight experience and has only just turned 23.

£15m? Watford have turned down over £25m for Troy Deeney ffs.

We've priced him at £75m as we don't need nor want to sell.

You've just spent £33m on a similar type of player but totally unproven.

Michy is kind of proven in Ligue 1.

He has done more than Romelu in the opener already <whistle>

alright - how is this kid Michy now then?
I know early days - but I am sure when Romelu kicks off, Michy won't be too far off his tail.

Guano (Batshit) has already shown more finesse and true footballing ability in two brief substitute spells that he has had, than Lukaku did in all his time at Chelsea. He has to be a starter soon. I trust Conte to do this sooner rather than later so it will be interesting to see how he fits both Guano and Costa together as I see him as a strike partner for Costa rather than a midfield supporting role up front. 4-4-2 seems to be the system Conte is happiest with and I think this is where Kante is the key, as his energy and stamina coupled with his undoubted ability will be crucial. Our midfield will be in transition and going through a totally different way they approach a game, I don't want to put too much pressure on him but in time he could become our new Makelele.

Thats less than half of Everton's asking price for Lukaku.

2 games in and he hasn't scored yet. Not really worth £75m on that basis.

Lukaku simply isn't good enough. End of.

I know, and the asking price for Lukaku is probably more than his true worth even in the silly market we have, but for someone to say he's worth £15m or even £30m is clearly a bit stupid.

How so? Surely his worth only what people will be prepared to pay! For me £30 mil is as much as I'd pay baring in mind we sold him for £28 and he has not fulfilled any promise yet.

Because we live in a world where Watford can turn down £25m for Deeney and Jordan Ibe goes for £15m. Lukaku probably isn't quite good enough for a team aspiring to win the league, though I don't think Costa is either, but Tobes' point is a hard one to dispute. How many other strikers can say at 23 they have a few seasons under their belt in this league scoring decent numbers each season?

    Bullshit

Other than the fact that he likes to fight, there is probably only one striker in the league better than Costa, Aguero.
Costa has a better than 1 in 2 ratio of goals to games. If he was wasn't a discipline case, he would be the perfect striker for a title challenging team.

Fair enough. Don't rate him that highly myself, partly because of the indiscipline.

His first season with us, he almost got a goal per game!
Last season ****ed his record up slightly because he downed tools.
This season, although only 2 games in, he has a goal per game.

Other than his discipline problems, there isn't much to not rate about him to be honest.
Just wish he wasn't slightly psychotic <laugh>
