http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rolando-aarons-assured-hes-part-13115619 Glad to see he is being given another chance as he looks like he has the potential, remember a few years ago telling my mate who supports Liverpool I though Aaron's was going to be Sterling mk II. He's been kept on by several managers over the past few years despite not being able to stay fit so there is definitely something there he just needs to get on the pitch to show it! Surely though this has to be his last chance to stay fit and get some games under his belt next season. Aarons and Atsu will provide good cover for Ritchie and (Townsend) another winger. They can both play both either side and have pace so good options later in games. Here's to hoping he stay fit and fufils his potential at SJP!
I recall the goals in Aus pre season and the pre-season game against Shalke, he may of even scored a bicycle kick in the US preseason too from memory. This kids different to most young wingers I've watched, he seems to have a better idea of position when the ball is on the opposite flank and he takes his chances, yeah, he's not as fast as theo Walcott or aaron Lennon, but I really don't think it matters when you have an end product. He needs to get over his injury problems, concentrate on the football as he's been known to like to party. Get 15-25 apps under his belt this year whether it be as a sub or a starter and really push on.
Hope he can kick on but I honestly think he is a crock. It's a shame cause he clearly has talent. But he's at the age now where he has to stay fit and play regular football. It would havis been ideal playing him last season.
Fantastic talent but he needs to do it on the pitch. Had a lot of time and 2yrs of injuries. He needs to stay fit this year as football doesn't really wait 3 seasons for someone!
We've had it before with the likes of Dyer. Really hope it works out for Aarons but will we be saying same thing a couple of years
Hard to avoid the feeling he will be another of the greatest wingers never to really play professional football. Would like nothing better than to be proven wrong
Agreed a year playing in the Championship would have been perfect for him. If he is fit and isn't getting game time maybe we can loan him out second half of the season!
He's just Dyer Mk2....actually even Dyer was fit for sometime in his career before he became a crock. 22 appearances in 3 full years is a horrendous return, and at 21 now, we can't just stay he's a promising kid anymore, this is the point where his career should really be taking off. Looked poor in his few games in the Championship at the start of the season, for me he's all step overs and tricks, but his body just isn't strong enough to be a professional footballer. We all expected big things of him after the Palace and Man City games, but that was way back in 2014 now, and he's hardly played since. Would be amazed if he makes it now, love to be proved wrong, but I can't see him coming good.
Loads of talent but proven absolutely nothing yet. Has looked a bit out of his depth when he's played for the first team and he's a bit greedy and has trouble getting his head up and finding his team mates. I would keep him as a back up to the other 4 wingers we need to have on the books ahead of him.
I'll take him down the gym, get him on the shakes and the tinned tuna, bit of creatine and bcaa's, loads of good carbs and bulk him right up, get him bench pressing 200kg in a couple of weeks
He wont be ready until December like, but he will be like Hulk (not the Brazilian one!). Get him boosted, ease him off and get his Pee clean for December. Maybe because of the rage, keep him away from Mitro, don't wanna clash of the titans
Are you talking about Aarons or Shola? Also, not done anything to prove he has anymore talent than Sameobi either! In fact, I would say Sameobi has done more for the club!
I think it's good when you read things like how Rafa sent him off to Italy to work with a specialist who he knows well from his time out there. Just feels like the squad is being much better looked after with Rafa and his experience and contacts.
Just comes down to Ashley and co not being able to micro manage everything. The good thing is Rafa has the stature to walk in and tell them how he wants it. Not how he would like it to be, but how it needs to be for him to work here. I think with Ashley getting where he has today in business, it can't all have been about having yes men (as Pards and McClaren undoubtedly were). He has to have relinquished power along the way to trusted people. Also Ashley has had to learn the hard way too. He has allowed Llambias and Charnley plenty of influence on the playing side, he has allowed Carr massive amounts of influence on the playing side through transfers, and he has paid a heavy price twice. Finally a manager has walked in rather than a coach and we've ditched the model that wasn't working for us. That is not to say it cannot work, but you have to have top top scouts working for you, and consistency in style of coaches. We, for whatever reason never came close to achieving that. Probably because Charnley and Llambias are not football people so ensuring everything is connected back to the playing side was not a concern. They looked solely at commodities and moving assets around. That is ok in a lot of businesses but football is a very different beast. Even a team like Spurs has issues with the buy and sell model. They have managed to procure some great players. Outstanding in fact. Alli, Eriksen, Vertonghen, Trippier, Walker, Dembele, Alderweired, Dier, Wanyama, Lloris, Son, Lamela, Davies - they have assembled a great list of talent through clever scouting. However last summer was a disaster for them. Sissoko and Jansen were a horrific waste of funds. Nkoudou you wouldn't write off but still, he was another 11m and hasn't featured. 58m on talent in attacking areas. If they'd spent that better, how much closer to Chelsea would they have gotten?? For instance Barbosa moved to Inter for around 28m, Gaitan for 15.5m to Athletico. Those two alone would have surely offered more than Sissoko and Janssen who cost more. Where we are now is a product of our failings. So hopefully Rafa will be allowed to continue to shape the club. The problem is you could easily see a certain someone throwing in a spanner at any time!
Always have been (unless Gallardo is coming ) I'm just not a fan boy who wants to gush like he is the second coming immune from criticism. You know how much I hate religion
