Aye. You're only a point behind City and you have to play them. Lets go really mental and say second. If spuds lose to Palace and you guys you never know. Our win yesterday may bring on their annual deltmown
I would say 3rd and 4th. City are in the box seat. Arsenal could yet win all the remaining games and even if they lose against United they may sneak in depending on the United and the RS results. A draw or defeat for the RS at Watford, all the bets are ****ing off BUT I can only see the RS thrashing a poor Watford 4-0 United has to win matches , goes without saying. But if they can't win against Arsenal (especially) or City then they simply cannot lose.
I think Arsenal are out of it now. With the exception of the games against Sunderland (and possibly Leicester), every one of their remaining fixtures screams 'banana skin' so can't see them making up the ground to get more than fifth at best. City definitely have the advantage at the moment. A win or draw for them in the derby will only make them more likely to get third, considering the easy run in they have after that with nothing else to play for. Unless we win on Thursday I think they are nailed on for third. Liverpool...**** knows. They have as easy a run in as City with a full week of rest and preparation for each match, which should be a decisive advantage. But they had that against Palace and were uninspiring and ineffective. As much as we've moved forwards over the course of the season they have moved backwards. That said, they are still favourites for fourth spot imo. I think we'll draw with City, so we will be two points behind with a game in hand. But we still have Arsenal and Spurs to go, and I think we'll drop points against at least one of those. I reckon we will finish with around 75 points, City on 78+. So Liverpool would need to drop more than three points in their last four games for us to get fourth, which I don't see happening. They'll probably **** up again before the end of the season but I can't see it happening twice with the favourable fixtures and preparation time they have. Just gotta hope for an EL win to keep the CL alive for next season.
You should never underestimate the RS's ability to **** things up for themselves. We all remember fondly their being beaten by the Chavs at home when they had the title at their mercy and when they only needed a draw The Watford game is going to be crucial. They need a win and that first goal is going to be absolutely crucial. I can see the RS winning 7 points from the next 3 games to reach 73 points. I predict United to get 8 points at least from the next 5 matches (2W 2DR and IL) which will give 71 points to set up a lastday shoot out. So it will be an RS draw at the last minute with United getting top 4 on GD (74 each). If we don't then we have to hope we have an extra match to play
Serious question, lads... Have you got used to finishing outside the Top 4, now? I'm not sure I could, tbh.
Yes. Serious question, have you got used to finishing in it yet, twice in (how many years) must be quite dizzying for you?
Two years on the trot, they are a regular now and a world wide name Their objective in the next 20 years is to try and make it through the group stage a couple of times
Blimey! All I did was ask a serious question! God alone knows what kind of abuse I'd get if I came here to wum!
You got a serious answer from me, Yes. I asked a serious question in return but you must have missed it
If it helps, I actually think United have a better chance of finishing top 4 than City.... ...provided you beat us. If you lose or draw, I think you'll finish 5th.
Before this weekend I figured we could drop 5 points and still make top 4, I had that down as 2 against Arsenal and 3 against you lot. Swansea have shot that to bits so we now have to beat Arsenal. In the past that was a given but as things stand I am not over confident.
It's been tough, I won't lie. Although not as tough as it would be to get used to not having won anything for almost a decade. When does the statue of Ramos go up outside the new stadium?
