Arsenal beat Swansea 4-0, too. Both teams scored twice though, so it should be a draw. Utd had a couple of sitters, but Liverpool took the lead and then tried to see the game out. Nearly worked. Was boring, though. I suspect that they'd have given it more of a go if Mane and Coutinho were available from the start. Might say something about their squad depth, I guess.
Here is the news:- Pep is thinking of returning to Bayern or Barcelona....it's much easier than the PL! Look-man I've scored for Everton!!!!!
I mean it wasn't completely dull but it was a really poor quality match. Defenders all over the shop, terrible finishing and all finished off by United spending the last half hour playing, "lump it up to the big man". Liverpool have had some injuries and a midweek game so they're partly excused but United have a ridiculously talented squad and are still reduced to turning themselves into an overpriced Pulis team. NLDs are by far the best derbies in the league by every measure.
That said, Fellaini and Ibrahimovic's headers were very good. Still should have been offside though, Mike Riley needs to explain to us commoners what rules apply to Manchester United, it doesn't seem like many do at the moment.
It is telling that at both Bayern and City the same criticism can be made: rather than adapt his system to fit the players at his disposal, he expects his players to adapt to his system with no questions asked. There were some dissenting voices in the German press when he was there for doing this, especially when comparing how Heynckes masterminded a two-legged annihilation against Barca in the CL semis on the way to a treble in 2013, yet in each of Guardiola's seasons at Bayern he saw the team get swatted aside by Los Ladrones, Barca or Atletico at the same stage of the competition, often after some miserable performances - for example when getting tonked 3-0 by Barca in the 2014-5 semis Bayern failed to get a single shot on target in ninety minutes
Pep still won't admit the PL is tough. Putting it down to the Personnel he has got upfront. Pep is right if he had Barca's front 3 he would do better. Pep, you genius
Real Madrid conceded a last-minute winner against Sevilla, bringing to an end their 40-game unbeaten run. This weekend just keeps getting better
And poor old Norwich haven't been themselves since they nicked their kit. To be fair, it's helped 'Pool though - C*ntinho did pick out a steward with a great pass today
I wonder if this week TalkShite will spend as much time talking about the team that is second as the team that is sixth? Nah. No chance. I'm actually waiting for comments like "Spurs have come in under the radar", well yeah, we would do if you never mention us!!!
Is this a new health and safety regulation? Are every team going to have to wear hi-vis or is it just a ploy by the mousers so they can pick out their players?
A vast number of pundits tipping United for the title last week. For the title no less. They were sat in 6th place and 10 points behind the leaders at the time. They must put something in the water to generate that level of hysteria. It's not natural, it can't be.
