Still disagree, i think its time for Costa to go. Too disruptive.

He's a great striker thats undeniable but he went off the boil after January when he didn't get his move.

When he was happy and playing really well at the beginning of the season, he got 13 goals and 5 assists in 17 games and that included our slump at the beginning of the season. That is world class and his performances were great.

After his January debacle he went 7 goals and 6 assists in 19 games. That still not a bad return but it was the performances that really stood out. Whereas someone like Walcott has really good stats but gets slated for going missing, Costa was a big negative when he goes missing cause he gets the ball a lot. Not only was he not holding it up, he was losing the ball a lot whereas Walcott only goes missing but you still keep the ball.

Like i said, it would be good to keep him if they got along but i wouldn't want to take that risk

Also we didn't do to bad when Costa wasn't playing. We scored 10 goals in 3 matches and won them 3-0, 3-0 and 4-3

'Disruptive?' You won the league. In fact you won it twice with Costa leading the line.

He's clearly a headcase, possibly intimidates team mates, is probably a nightmare in training but none of those things are necessarily bad. People always think that the squad should be harmonious, that It should be one happy family but thats not the case.

Alex Ferguson understood this Concept.. he didnt care if the team were happy he just wanted to make sure everyone was training and playing with intensity. If they win - it doesnt really matter if they are one big happy family or not.

I'm not saying i don't want leaders and people to challenge Contes authority (see Arsenal and Liverpool who i think lack this) but if Costa turns like he did year 2 for Mourinho or a little bit after January last year, i can see him putting in some very **** performances, especially now that Conte sent him a text to clear off.

I think it's too much of a risk.

Looking forward to a new striker

We won't really know the true story about Costa until he's retired but if the boss wants shot then I guess he feels it's a problem that could get out of hand. That I guess is his call. But I do understand The Bear's point of view but it can become a major issue if you think the player is undermining your authority.

Chelsea will miss a tremendous player that offers a lot and it will take some replacing.

Fair enough - I just dont think there are many forwards out there that will 1. Win you big games and 2. give you a better goal return.

    Morata certianly wont. IMO

Chelsea definitely will be weaker without Costa.

Yeah no doubt, if costa is costa of last year (or better still costa of atletico where he had more pace) then sure, i'd be all for keeping him.

I just feel that if we keep costa though, he's going to play up so we'd be better off getting rid. He's exactly the sort of footballer who wouldn't surprise me to sabotage a manager

That is the main issue. Great player but if he goes on to sabotage the manager then Chelsea will suffer in the long run, even if they keep Costa.

On the flip side, Simione seems to want him back, so maybe he has a way of controlling Blanka.

Rumours out there that Arsenal have offered Chamberlain to Chelsea in exchange for Matic.

Personally would love this. The DM position is the one where we really lack any real quality.

That would be daylight robbery from you guys.

Considering United are apparantly willing to part with 40 million to get him and Ox is probably worth around 20 considering his contract situation.

Hope it happens. The Ox is versatile and on his day is top class but for the most part he is infuriatingly inconsistent. Also with the addition of Lacazette and most probably Lemar his gametime would be even more limited next Season.

Matic would be a very useful player for us though. I'm a fan, not the quickest but does his job of protecting the back four very well.

I would bite their hands off for that deal. Matic is the kinda player we need as a proper DM. Oxo is good but hasn't shown any real consistency.

It must just be me that's not a great fan of Matic. Would prefer someone else if I'm honest. Don't rate him that highly.

Not really. Both 7/10 players who shouldn't be starters and probably wouldn't be either with Ramsay and Xhaka around

He's a massive upgrade on Coquelin IMO. Probably the best holding player in the league.

Would be good if that happens - one of the main sides after Sanchez. This would probably put an end to that.
