I don't think playing Ozil and Mahrez together would work without a top class DM, a Kante type.

You should go for William Carvalho too if you buy Mahrez imo.

Not sure we'll be in for a DM but there has been rumours about Carvalho. Problem is we have quite a large squad and players that fit or can fit the DM area. I do see the importance of having an out-and-out DM. The closest we have is Coqs, but he's been of form of recent. The biggest issue we have is how we deal with the absence of Cazorla and what combination Wenger uses for our midfield. Players such as Ramsey and Wilshere need to step up and make a claim. We have the following who can play alongside Ozil when Cazorla is out- Xhaka, Ramsey, Wilshere, Elneny and Coqs. It'll be key getting the right combination and strategy to work in the middle of the park.

Yeah would love to see another CM come in. I'm unconvinced about the quality of Elneny and Coquelin. Ramsey is inconsistent and Wilshere lives in medical room.

I think Leon Goretzka could be a good option. He's a big guy and technical enough to play in our side. Same goes for Carvalho.

Man u just signed Lukaku for an initial £75m which will rise a further £15m with add-ons after his medical. Damn £75m is too much, but with £15m add-ons! Crazy transfer money.

It's becoming increasingly harder to tell what is value for money and what isn't anymore. Transfer fees are just mind-blowing these days.

Lukaku's agent must be well chuffed, he's bagged £10m from this deal! Agents are another problem altogether.

I cant decide if Lukaku is decent value or not.

He's 24 and has scored 25+ for the last two Seasons. Best years are head of him and he's only going to improve.

£90m plus Rooney going the other way !

Lukaku was good for Everton - does he have a big fish in a small pond mentality if ? If so then he may struggle at United..

Interestingly Monaco have come out and said that Real Madrid have yet to make any offers for Mbappe.

Soo the 105 million bid from Real never happened. Some outlets are saying they wont bid for Mbappe unless they sell James and Morata this window.

Leicester have also denied that we've been in for Mahrez this window. Hard to believe what is real. Going back to Mbappe, Wenger has supposedly had a 3 hour meeting with him after the France v England game. Zidane and the PSG manager have also been in contact with Mbappe. In all this, Mbappe has renewed his property in Monaco. Mbappe rumours will continue to go into overdrive until he comes out clearly about staying with Monaco.

The whole affair with Mbappe is too complex and something we should steer clear, unless Wenger has real positive vibes about the deal. I would stick to either Lemar or Mahrez and minimise any further distractions going into the new season. In my opinion, keeping Sanchez and getting either Lemar or Mahrez should be enough quality to go into next season as one of the best teams in the PL.

Edit - And keep Ozil and Giroud.

If we can get Mbappe it would be the the transfer of the window, and probably one of our best ever. But I don't want us to chase dreams if it means missing out on Lemar. He is a cracking little player. Also it looks like Ozil is staying, and it's edging closer to Sanchez staying too, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see. .....

It would be a cracking transfer window if we got him but he's carrying too much hype and attention from all the wrong places. Only a Real Madrid or similar club would be able to handle all that crap. But i wish i can hibernate and wake up when it's all done. But who am i fooling, i'm a sucker for all this stuff, you get drawn in whether you like it or not.

Same. Every summer I tell myself that I'm not going to get sucked into the gossip and rumours, justifying it to myself by reminding myself that it's just click bait to drive advertising.

And every summer without fail I am there clicking on every transfer rumour regarding Arsenal hoping for a mega signing <laugh>

Like a bunch of junkies. But it's been good so far, we've had a nice early fix with Lacazette but i fear that it's going to drive us insane looking for the next one!

Gotta be honest - I hope Morata comes to Chelsea and Diego Costa ia allowed to leave.

They would be FAR weaker with Morata leading the line.

Completely agree with that. Was chatting to a couple of Chelsea fans on the PL board and they were trying to justify Costa leaving because he'd been 'disruptive'. He had his best scoring season last year at Chelsea and helped them to win the league. I'd take that sort of disruption any day of the week <ok>

Totally agree. I think letting go of Costa would be a big mistake for Chelsea.
