Gaffney and Broome have signed new contracts

 

Sligo rovers were hoping to persuade Rory Gaffney to sign for them. Rovers have also signed Brian Dutton as a coach and he is also scouting younger players in Europe

 

Hands up, I wasn't familiar with the name Brian Dutton, so googled him to see what his story is. It would be easier to list the teams he's not been associated with, than the one's he has. Quite a CV to date - Trial with Swindon Town, played for Pickering Town, Cambridge Utd, Pickering Town again, Weymouth, Eastleigh, Weymouth again, York City, Maangotsfield Utd, Dorchester Town, Salisbury City, Harrogate Town, Northwich Victoria, back to Salisbury Town with DC, Havant and Waterlooville, and Eastbourne Borough. With his track record in football, he must have no end of contacts spread all over the country, one would assume. Incidentally, apparently his father Dave Dutton, was a jockey who won the Scottish Grand National in 1981, so he comes from a 'sporty' family.

 

I just thought it was interesting that he was scouting in Europe and looking for young players and is going to Oviedo in Spain in the next few weeks

 

Is it just Harrison left to make his mind up?
