We started off well. Really good opening passing move. The game became a bit boring after that. Plenty of decent passing moves from both sides but no real penetration. The Jak. Hull Citys number 1!!! Some good saves. Very loud very passionate. Even played to the crowd in the last five minutes. Taking the piss out of Llorente. Meyler can cross a decent ball. Played well. Jake. Excellent game. Wasted as a CB though. Dawson. Made a few errors. Father Time creeping up? Went off after a challenge just like he did in pre season, player making a back as he comes in from the side. Robbo. Better second half, frustrating first half he just wouldnt go down the line. Henriksen. He needs to do some strength work. But played well. Worked well with Meyler. Thought it was harsh bringing him off but Marco needed to see the others. Hudd. Excellent in CM but he's no CB. The back line was doing a hokey cokey in out in out-like a wave. Still made a couple of good interceptions though. Mason. A revelation. Shows you what sending for a long stand can do for him. Great turn in CM and went forward for the first i think. Pleased for him Clucas. Again better second half. Kept coming inside first half. Marco not happy with him at all. Snodgrass. Holds a man off better than most of the cenner forwards we've had over the years. Diomande. Tries hard and works back really well but just doesnt have enough quality. Hernandez. Groin injury my arse. Looks fit and hungry. Great back heel and a strikers goal. Welcome back Abel. Maloney smashing footballer. That dummy was great and the interplay with him Snod and Meyler was great. Tymon. Well done josh. Great finish. Silva. Fired them up second half. Marco does not like a team playing it our from their goalie. Pushed the full lot of ours right up to them. Worked a treat. Get a bet on us to stay up.
Good to hear about us pressing them. I assume most managers are a bit fearful of teams getting in behind them if they push up, but a lot of these continental managers seem to come to the PL and make it work well.
Swansea were properly ****. Their only mild threat came from Dyer, because we often didn't close him down quickly. They took him off and their attacking play evaporated. Clackstone nearly came on for Dawson, but Silva changed mind and went for Maloney. Quality choice.
Don't wish to be a killjoy but I think we'll have a better idea of our chances of staying up after the Bournemouth game. Six wins and a couple of draws might do it.
Further point. We did try a few Man City type goal kicks... Not what i want to see. Mason really didnt want it with a man on him.
well he said essentially he came here and didn't play in his position and that today he played it and he plays way better playing that position anyway answer the other question
What? Did he play well? Ye he did. Bit lightweight against better teams. Dilemma with him and Hudd in there together.
that is my question he said this is essentially the first time we have played how he is suited to and his prefferred position
