In chronological order (geographical location) My ranking Jan Sunderland (NE) 3rd this might seem strange given oppo, but it's so close to Man City game Man U (NW) 1st Feb Hull (NE) 9th Leicester (Mid) 6th Mar Man C (NW) 2nd April Stoke (Mid) 5th WBA (Mid) 7th Watford (SE) 8th May West Ham (SE) 4th On the whole only two trips London (Watford is close enough pedants). Two hardest in the Nth West, no travel really. If we are really going to compete for title, then that list has got to be one of the easiest set of away fixtures we could ask for.
I would say they are all as important (to win) as one another and that it's best to take each game as it comes rather than trying to prioritise them and think about them all at the same time
Expect us to lose at either United or City. Draw at least one if not two of the other games. We will have to be amazing to win all those away games. 6wins, 2 draws, 1 defeat. 20 pts Don't know if that's going to be good enough, but it's realistic.
No real point thinking about any game other than the next, particularly games that are months off, as who knows what will be going on with our squad (injuries, fitness, suspensions, form) and other teams' squads. So many variables involved
Blimey you're no fun. Just looking ahead, chewing some fat, waiting for Christmas. It's got to be better than rehashing the Ronaldo/Messi debate going on else where
Two Manchester games are the obvious stumbling blocks. I believe there is a trope about Stoke away. Any hopes for it being cold rainy and midweek when we play them?
well spurs are indeed a small minded team yes. burnely spurs man utd southampton bournemouth west ham yeah... pretty much you are right there west ham are a decent side club though
There are more "smaller" clubs to play against so does this mean we are more vulnerable to losing points?
I hate this term smaller club. Of course we all understand the subtext of the phrase but it's the Premier League, arguably the biggest league in the world, there are no small clubs
Hard to look too far into the future at the moment. Looking at West Ham, the right time to play them away was anytime before now. By May they might have got to grips with their new home and probably be on better form. Sunderland being our next away game, I'd expect us to dick them but it didn't quite work out that way at Anfield. They got as much resting time as us after an away game at Burnley. Hopefully they'll be more focused on trying to pick up points in that game and our quality and fitness should be superior to get the job done. Want to get through these next two games before seriously looking at these fixtures just yet though.
Aye. We have to be cautious about the minnows as someone here had earlier reminded us. If we were playing the big clubs we wouldn't need to worry. We have lost more points (per match) to those outside the top 5 than to those inside.
