I don't agree that his transfer policy was good. Buying five or six players a season, hoping that some of them will make it and selling the rest at a loss does not a well run football club make. But he did make a fair few quality signings, and was a good tactician. For my money, his main failing was his inability to motivate players for regular games. He'd have you playing like Champions at Old Trafford or in the CL, but then you'd go to the Britannia and look like you couldn't give a toss. That was Hodgson's problem as well - he got you to beat Chelsea, and almost take a point of us at OT, but couldn't get the players to perform in the run of the mill games that you have to take in your stride in order to be champions. Which is also why you're doing so well now Kenny has taken over - the players actually put the effort in for him, even when the game isn't high profile.

Rafa won the champions league/European Cup in 10 months,He led Liverpool to 2 finals in 3 years.It took Baconface 13 years to win one,and has appeared in 3 years.Rafa is a decent coach.He also won Valencia's first title in 31 years something Guus Hiddink and Hector Cuper couldn't do.
