The Wendies have beaten the barcodes. Just goes to show with all the Millions Newcastle have paid on players, they are not having it all their own way.
If we could win the next two, a big ask I know, we could be within touching distance of the autos. Some achievement
I know. Every game looks a difficult one on paper but with Bridcutt back and Hernandez returning that will help. Doukara is doing a sterling job as well
You took your chances we didn't also you don't win if you cannot keep 11 on the pitch. You have a chance this year if Massimo keeps his nose out. All the best
Last year had some particularly poor teams in this league ! ( or have you forgotten). Two years ago we were worried 50 might not be enough!
We scored 4 goals against PNE, 3 before halftime, I set my puter alarm for 5 minutes after the 3rd goal to make sure I wasn't a kip and dreaming. There's a reason we scored 3 goals before halftime, was it the presence of Bridcut, and Hernandez coming on,?......who knows, just from the highlights the passing looked much better, more accurate with more determination and positivity and, we used the area in front of goal more rather than keep relying on crosses from wings, hence Sacko's and Hernandez's goals, and Dukes goal wasn't a cross either. I've always said we need to do more defence splitting passes around the front of goal, Sacko's started with one, and Hernandez to run onto a pinpoint brilliant pass resulted in a goal. Against Villa, I wouldn't be changing the starting line up with the exception of including Hernandez. I also think, injury free, we should keep same line up for next 3 or 4 games to see if the attitude, determination and passing continues and makes a difference. How far back do we have to go to remember last time we scored 4 goals, or 3 before halftime.......
For me the real achievement is heading into the Villa game looking for 12 points out of 12 for the festive period. Not sure how many decades since we'd have done that
