Dundee United boss Peter Houston has said his side face a tough tie after being drawn against Polish side Slask Wroclaw in the Europa League, reports The Courier.

Houston claims they were unfortunate to get such a tough fixture and reckons the Tangerines now face an uphill battle to progress.

United, back in pre-season training yesterday, were hoping for a tie against a minnow from one of the smaller European nations but will instead pit themselves against the team that finishing second in the Polish league.

Wroclaw, who can call upon six Poland internationals among their ranks, were pipped to the title by Wisla Krakow.

Houston has begun scouting his opposition and is expecting his dossier to make for uncomfortable reading.

He said: "Looking at the draw this is probably the most difficult team we could be facing. They have finished second in the Polish league, ahead of some good sides such as Legia Warsaw and Lech Poznan.

"That tells you they have a very good pedigree. Polish football is improving all the time so there is no doubt this is going to be a big test.

United travel to south-west Poland on Thursday, July 14, before the return leg at Tannadice a week later.
