I’ve given 100 knowledgeable racing enthusiasts 100 seconds to name people currently involved in the Horse Racing Industry that they don’t like. The winner will be the person, on the forum. who gives the first pointless answer. Note – The independent adjudicator has been given a list of the answers so that I can’t be accused of making it up as I go along.
A purist might want you to define your terms more closely, Barney, particularly 'involved in': does that include owners/journalists/pundits, or just people who earn their living from the physical process of getting a horse from wire to wire. Anyway, I'll nominate Mark Prescott.
Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum may well be a very nice man, but because he owns the boat below, and I'm as jealous as ****, I'll vote for him. please log in to view this image
Apologies, Rainer. My head is hung in shame from not explaining myself better. Yes, meant anyone (in whatever capacity) who earns money from the sport of horse racing – so that would be owners, trainers, jockeys, pundits, journalists, etc. I won't do the Pointless 'counter' sound effect by the way (I know I'm annoying but I ain't that annoying!). Sir Mark Prescott scored 8.
Pointless!! Sir Barney, you obviously have too much time on your hands and the Affairs of the State are not consuming you enough. I always felt Clare Balding was pointless, which is cruel, especially as I like her brother and father so much.
Shall we go all Sesame Street and have it as our word of the day! Not606 was brought to you today by the word punctiliously!
Francesca got 31. Some it would appear just don’t like a posh filly. Richi got 18. A bit harsh again in my book. As although he may be somewhat ‘lacking’ when it comes to presenting he’s not really a chap that truly inspires dislike.
I'll put up the numpty who wrote the notes for the Sporting Life racecard for the 6:50 at Southwell this evening. Talking about Follow The Bear having an 11lbs higher mark than last time and how that will make things much more difficult for him. Also in the race summary he says Follow The Bear should be able to "defy the rise in the weights, as large as it is". The race is NOT A HANDICAP YOU ****ING TOSSPOT, it is a novices hurdle. It is absolutely pointless to discuss the increase in the official mark of Follow The Bear in the context of this race. If you had read the race conditions (which Sporting Life don't carry, need to got to Racing Post) then it would be obvious:
Punctilious and Tosspot, the English language at its very best! Won't be a zero, I know, but I'll put up 'Frank' Spencer.
