Sounds silly but May be we should take him back from Brentford and play him the last few games up front with Petric if Berbatov is injured. Might get his confidence back, and can only see Brentford fans getting at him. Can't see him getting a game in the play-offs after disobeying orders, but could it be Burn v Trotta ?
The problem is that skills and physical ability only takes you so far. You need a good work ethic and strong mental attributes to be a success at the top. Trotta has all the skills, but not the right attitude. He'll probably be best served plying his trade in Serie B.
Absolutely cannot see him staying there now, sounds like they're baying for blood! Very harsh on the lad, people are acting like he intended to miss the penalty!
I dont think the Brentfords fans are being harsh,If we were in that situation with an arogant loanee, our reactions woul possibly worse, and for MJ to say he is pleased with his progress at the Bees, when most games he does not play the full 90m. It will be interesting tp see if he is in the team for the play offs.
Kasami basically did the same thing in the cup tie against Chelsea, as Orlando Sa was the designated penalty taker, I didn't see him being thrown to the wolves, yes it wasn't a kick that decided on promotion, but it was in the cup against our closest rivals. His manager should be lending him a shoulder not hanging him out to dry, his confidence must be absolutely shot.
Marcello has been 'forgiven', apparently - Source: http://www.hounslowchronicle.co.uk/west-london-sport/west-london-brentford-fc/2013/05/02/109642-33274598/
David Stockdale is a happy man please log in to view this image Dan Burn not quite so but Yeovil still not out of it. As Bidley mentioned, Marcello Trotta was left out of the Brentford side. No game for Matt Briggs either. Here is the full round up from the Club -
Now that Hull are up, does that make Stocky's permanent transfer to them more likely? I think we've all got used to the idea that he's going to leave, and it would be good to see him at a Premier League club. It also means that they can more easily afford the transfer fee! Good luck to him if he goes (apart from two matches next season, obviously).
Dan Burn is off to Wembley, after Yeovil beat Sheffield United 2-0 (2-1 on aggregate). Congratulations Dan!
Yeah well done Yeovil and Dan the Man. They face Brentford, who unbelievably won on Penalties (aet) without the help of you know who. [Trotta was subbed in the 82nd minute]
Trotta did however get an assist in the first half and, according to my Brentford ST friend, played very well in the first half. A chance for redemption for young Del Boy, or a fine send off for Dan Burn? Great little Fulham storyline at Wembley. For the record, if Yeovil get promoted I would not be surprised if Burn stays another year. Whatever happens, Burn should not be playing League 1 football next year.
Matthew Briggs came on in the 73rd minute as Watford fell 1-0 to Leicester City in an open npower Championship Semi-Final First Leg. The Hornets were on the back foot in the first half as Leicester pushed on and kept the second-highest top scorers this season away from goal in the opening exchanges. As the game wore on, Matej Vydra and Alex Geijo wasted good chances for Watford and they were made to pay as David Nugent headed his first goal in 17 games in the 82nd minute after a looping free-kick from Anthony Knockaert to secure a slender lead. Elsewhere, Josh Pritchard played 74 minutes for Tromso as they lost 2-1 away to Rosenborg in the Norwegian Tippeligaen on Wednesday. Stefan Strandberg opened the scoring after 18 minutes and Tarik Elyounoussi doubled the lead before half-time. Czech forward Zdenek Ondrášek got one back, but Tromso could not sneak an equaliser and are now ninth in the table with 10 points from their eight games. Pajtim Kasami and Josh Pritchard get game time as their team's win abroad and at home Matt Briggs heads to Wembley - "Matthew Briggs will go to Wembley with Watford to take part in the npower Championship Play-Off Final after an incredible 3-1 win over Leicester City on Sunday. Briggs played from the start as the Hornets looked to overcome a 1-0 First Leg deficit, but they were up against it early on as David Nugent levelled Matej Vydra’s brilliant 15th-minute volley to give the away side an aggregate lead. Watford nearly went back in front when Briggs put in a delicious cross that was almost turned in, before Vydra put the Hornets 2-1 up shortly after half-time after a nice one-two with Troy Deeney. However, the drama was saved until the last minute as Leicester were awarded a soft penalty for a foul on Anthony Knockaert by Marco Cassetti. Knockaert picked himself up to take the kick and send the Foxes to Wembley, but goalkeeper Manuel Almunia saved the spot-kick, first with his legs, then with a wonderful block from the follow-up. Within 20 seconds the ball was in the net at the other end to send the Hornets through, as they counter-attacked and Deeney hammered home a stunning winner after a knockdown from Jonathan Hogg. Elsewhere, Pajtim Kasami played the full 90 minutes as FC Lucerne beat Young Boys 3-1 in the Swiss Super League. Xavier Hochstrasser opened the scoring, but they were then pegged back to 1-1 before half-time. Lucerne came away with the win though, as two goals in five minutes from Daniel Gygax and Stephan Andrist sealed the victory. Josh Pritchard came on as an 81st-minute substitute as Tromso hammered Sarpsborg 5-0 in the Norwegian Tippeligaen on Sunday. Tromso moved up to fourth place in the league after an opener from Magnus Andersen, a brace from Remi Johansen and two more from Zdenek Ondrasek and Steffen Nystrom."
