  1. Echo most thoughts above, but if pushed will go with Big Vic!
    Of the alternatives.....
Eriksen is an amazing talent, but I recall a couple of months (Oct/Nov?) when he was definitely not firing on all cylinders. Alli has been superb, but has been let down a couple of times with his temperament. Kane has missed a huge chunk of the season (not his fault!). Toby & Jan have both been superb but never better than when together. Walks and Rose both brilliant but the former could have scotched the rumours circulating by now and the latter has missed too many games.
In many ways I wouldn't change Lloris for anykeeper in the PL, but three things stop me naming him as POTY 1) Don't think he is a strong enough onfield influence as a captain 2) his distribution is downright poor and causes me more palpitations than is good for me and 3) He also didn't help kill the narratives by stating publicly that he would leave Spurs if Poch goes.

    But that's picking hairs!!! COYS!!!!

I thought Hugo had his most 'verbal' game for us against Arsenal. It was an absolute racket yet you could still clearly hear him bellowing at the defenders throughout. I've always found him to be a bit too passive and laissez faire during games, so that was a welcome sight.

I know no one loves Walker more than me, but to see he has only got one vote (mine), is staggering.

I guess if I had a second choice it would be Wanyama, but still remain surprised Walker hasn't received more votes.

The timing's been difficult. Changing his social media pictures for ones with him in England kit from ones in Spurs kit today is also poor timing given the hullabaloo surrounding him right now. If he'd come out and said "I want to stay", then it would help, even if he was looking for a pay rise.

He's been great but I still have a bit of an issue with his end product. Maybe it's unfair and Pochettino's instructions are the issue but I always feel he could be a bit more direct or at least mix it up a bit more in attack.

Still, he's produced one of my favourite moments of the season with the incredible pass against Hull. Can't find any good quality videos of it but it's this one:

The angle doesn't do justice to the late curl and perfect weight on the ball through all those Hull players but it was a joy to watch.

Had to vote for Wanyama. I wasn't certain about his signing for about 10 minutes but quickly came round to the idea. I just hope Barca or Madrid dont turn up with about 120 million Euros. Exciting to watch and only going to get better.

He's been very good, but a lot of players have and Wanyama's surprised a lot of people.
I didn't see him starting ahead of Dier and thought he'd be a useful squad player.
We're all quite used to Walker playing well for us now, I think.

Harry Kane has no votes at all, rather unbelievably.

Good point regarding Kane, I hadn't noticed he hasn't any votes.

A lot of people mentioned him, but I think he had a fairly slow start to the campaign.
Certainly turned it on after that, barring his set-pieces, but he took quite a while to get going.

Yes. Goes to show that most fans have pretty short-term memories. For the same reason Alli was pretty much blanked on here too. Not taking anything away from 2 players who have upped their games impressively this campaign, but let's face it you can't be called player of the 'year' if you only wake up in December.

Vic and Jan hit the ground running from our first game and haven't really looked back since. Not606 knows best <ok>

Anyone want to change their vote given Kane's sensational end to the season?

Nope. One season wonder. Only scores when it doesn't matter.

Nope, I'll be voting for him next season (hopefully). If he can start like he ends, we might get a dozen hatricks. They should send him to Iceland and tell him the season hasn't finished, its just a winter break.
