Player Awards event tonight 7.30pm

In total, there are six awards that will be presented, with the event, which is being hosted by Ed Chamberlin, being broadcast live on southamptonfc.com, as well as Saints official Facebook page.

The six awards will be:

• Fans’ Player of the Season, sponsored by Virgin Media
• Players’ Player of the Season, sponsored by Peter Cooper Motor Group
• Goal of the Season, sponsored by Radio Taxis
• Scholar of the Season, sponsored by Under Armour
• Girls’ Regional Talent Club Player of the Season, sponsored by Solent University
• President’s Choice Award

There will be an opportunity to vote for the Goal of the Season online tonight, during the live broadcast.

So who's going to win goal of the season then? Such a lot of choice.......

 

As critical as I've been of him lately, Boufal's gotta win goal of the season.

 

Puel will presumably give a speech...hope he keeps it short or faces will fall into the soup.

 

There should be a special award for the best injured player as we have quite a few of those.

 

Wheres the longest time out injured with a pulled hamstring award?

 

The award for the quickest recovery goes to Shane Long....he recovered by the time he walked off after being subbed.

Stretching the list of nominees a fair bit I feel.....

 

I've gone for Oriol Romeu . He's been so consistent all season that I had forgotten VW and he signed a new contract.
He really seems to like it here.......or I'm being naive again.
Here's his latest tweet. Thank goodness the players have a bit more backbone than some of the fans.

 

I voted for Romeu....mainly for his consistency.....but also for keeping in touch with fans, being an apparent good guy, loving his dogs and general adorableness.

 

Another vote for Oriol. It was a pretty easy choice, to be honest.

 

Now who to give the Scruffiest Player award to......mmm?

 

Obviously no "Best hair style" award this season

 

There is only one winner for goal of the season.... come on fans it has to be Gabbiadini's "first" of the hat-trick at Wembley!

Can't see why anyone would vote for anyone else but Van Dijk. He is clearly our best player and has had the best season. Him being injured and not playing as many games as others is probably most people's reasoning but considering he played in almost every game up until then he has still played more than many others!

 

Bertrand for me, would've been VVD if he had stayed fit. honourable mentions for Romeu and Cedric.

Young player is between McQueen and Sims for me. (JWP can't be classed as "young" now with all his experience!)

 

Ffs. I was hoping they would learn I cant do Thursday evenings after the europa league debacle!

Is it too much to ask that Southampton design their entire schedule to suit my needs?
