I feel for yous. Can't cope in the Premiership without us bless you! In our case, was best thing that could have happened, but then we did get rid of some lazy b's for £80m and have got a better team as a result of some good planning. I guess you'll not survive if there's not some quality brought to your club in January, so getting Moyes to think about this outcome should be considered. The refereeing in the Championship is pants, and you can get some proper crazy decisions with the rule book nowhere near the place. And there are one or two special clubs down here, who hate well supported teams.
But you will have a massive squad rebuilding if you do get promoted. You current squad is no where near good enough to survive in the big league.
Personally, relegation is not an option because there is very little access to the Championship in the US. What SAFC needs is a few good yanks. We come cheap and we generally stay healthy.
it's just something relegated teams say to try make themselves feel better but like u say it's bollocks
Altidore and Bradley [the son] are overrated useless twats, I apologize that SAFC had the misfortune to aquire one of them.
I must admit, the Premier is the place to be, no denying, but I'm enjoying the footy now. No harm in having a season or two in the championship to recharge the batteries. Best wishes to you lads personally, not your godforsaken team.
The premiership is the place to be, if you can compete in it. We haven't really competed in it for years, we have just survived and on the whole just made up the numbers. Whole host of reasons why this is the case. Can we compete in it in the future, the answer is a resounding yes, but I do think we need to be more strategic and have a longer term plan rather than perennially struggling and making the same mistakes. As I said from the start, this is just my view. Am I giving up on Sunderland ? I guess for this season I am saying the club should just plan for the inevitable as I simply can't see us staying up. Sorry - as this has obviously upset some of you ! I would love to be proven wrong, but would anything be different in 12 months time if we can pull off the great escape again - I just can't see it.
We have been one win away from safety for weeks now man. They like being in the bottom 3 it is all they know and that is the truth they need to see a shrink. Moyes needs to sell Pickford and Ndong then bring in about 4 players and ones who can actually keep hold and pass the ball, because what I watched yesterday was school kid football and better not happen again but will. I can see Moyes walking by the end of the week if he cannot get players in.
You're right, the club has lacked a long-term strategic plan for most of Ellis Short's time in charge. Poor decision making at board room level is the underlying cause of all of SAFC's problems. Martin Bain, however, seems to recognise that this is the case and appears, according to what he says, to be attempting to rectify those problems. With the club's financial problems, it seems unlikely that we'd be any better equipped to compete in the Championship than we are in the Premier League. Indeed, we could befall the same fate as Leeds Utd, or worse, and I think this is more likely than us bouncing back at the first attempt. Therefore, our only hope is to stay in the Premier League and hope that Bain and Short can get their act together quickly or that a reputable, honest, and diligent new owner can be found as soon as possible.
https://www.google.com/finance?cid=360769093609603 The fans should by SAFC - it works well for the Green Bay Packers. Btw, Green Bay is a much smaller city than Sunderland.
Its an interesting idea but I think it still requires the input of some very wealthy individuals. Several lower league clubs are fan owned but its never been tried at the highest level. http://backpagefootball.com/the-top-ten-fan-owned-clubs-in-english-football-part-2/100169/
Things looks like they're about to get a whole lot worse for you. Pounded relentlessly by Burnley. Barely any fit players, no money, fans will turn on Short in the stadium over January most likely. Moyes walking would probably work out best for his credibility.
