I was given a version by a Muslim who was going around trying to convert people, the 'prologue' is a religious diatribe on the Jews, they did this, they did that, they did the other against God, they are this, that and the other, all negatives. A pattern that keeps repeating in this thread is that the religious God believers are engineering themselves a little wriggle room for every question thrown at them through that old chestnut 'interpretation' or just claiming that the other person Is working with substandard research, yet demanding precision facts from only reputable (to them) sources from their opposition.

The passage refers to rules of war. It says fight those who fight you but don't attack the elderly, women and children etc and if thehbmake peace with you escort them to safety and fulf their rights (so no torture no imprisonment, ie treat hem like you would a guest). But if they backstab you the kill them where you find them

There are horrible verses in the Quran, and in the Bible, and likely in every holy book, you should know, you read them all before you made the informed decision to be a muslim, right?

Firstly I for one have not mentioned interpretation. I did say look at the whole passage and context

If I do a war poem and say guns and rifles are needed and you try and say I am calling for ghetto shootings then you will get called up on it.

Secondly I don't see any atheist offering anything never mind precision facts. Looking at some of the questions and answers they have no knowledge on the topic at all

Thirdly to say god botherers are interfering is laughable. The cause for atheists is religions. Of you ask them for their beliefs they run like frightened kids or try every effort in the book to get the topic back to religion

Most people are born into religion it's against their will because they're too young to choose or understand. The indoctrination starts early. How many practising Catholics do you know that'll break every teaching, get drunk fornicate out of wedlock, take drugs and commit crimes then go to confession for a man who states his Gods emissary on earth and tells you to say five our Mary's and ten our fathers and bingo! Off you go and do it again for another week.

I'd imagine all religions have a similar deal as they all come from paganism and it's that hypocrisy that makes it all stupid and unbelievable. If you're going to be righteous, holy there's no room for hypocrisy all religion breeds it.

And yes I have read them. Not only that but I bothered to meet with likes of Dawkins et al too. I wasn't born into the belief I now carry so all the allegations of spoon fed by aime don't apply.
