Just come back from shops and couldn't help but notice the number of drivers who reverse into a car Parkin space. Don't mean the parallel parking bit but into "normal" car park spaces. Why? Isn't life too short to be wasting time reverse parking in car parks? Anyone on here do it and, if so, why?
Actually I don't think it takes more time as you can steer your back end to exactly it needs to be. Having 360 degree cameras helps also mind - though there's no camera on the front bumper.
Like a car parking space in a supermarket for example? I always reverse in. Can't see why you would drive in and reverse out when there are other cars and people around. Reverse in (won't be a car there) drove out with you being able to see everything ahead of you rather than edging out. Also if someone else parks like a prick if you are going out forwards it's just easier
This ..you have to reverse at least once in or out (unless you are using a mobility scooter/Bike/Horse ..of course) Do it first with full visibility around you ..then when leaving ..better visibility again
Depends on your car as well. I've got an x-trail which is the first time I've had such a size of vehicle, I reversed into parking space first time I went shopping (empty space behind me) and came out only to find some twat had parked right up me arse and I couldn't open the huge tailgate...I always drive in to spaces now.
Yep essentially this, its just common sense and takes no additional time. If anything it saves time. Too many ****tards speeding up and down carparks to be reversing out. I don't always but if its busy I always do. I do hate watching some people reverse park though. It like an angry snake reversing. Particularly if they are going in the space beside my car. I have an A6 too, so fairly large. Size does matter Trev. I tend to not give a **** if I take the missus little car anywhere. First because its small and nimble, secondly I think its a ****box.
50/50 for me. Usually I just plough straight in to 3/4 cars to make myself a nice space and put a piece of paper on each car with a smearing of ****e on it, that's all the info they need right?
I chose yes... but technically my car parks itself as it has parking assist.... I just use my right foot and no hands.
A supermarket is where I normally don't reverse park because it would mean it's harder to get to the boot to put the shopping in. I've got to squeeze the shopping between 2 cars and the car opposite might not have left a lot of space so I've got to put it in from the side.
Supermarket shopping no cause of access to the boot, most other parking yes cause it is so much easier to get out of the space again, in fairness though I have a Fiesta ST2 so a lot easier to park.
