NOW THEN I haven't called for juniors head, and still don't, but OC would be a very useful 2 month addition to our coaching set up! a sort of mentor for Junior ...... he has most of the attributes needed to assist should he cost £50k a week then so be it, £1/2m would be worth it.. we haven't spent all what we have earned from transfers yet .....
Seems like the Blackburn fans are delighted - obviously they know better than I, but I thought they were turning a corner a bit, but perhaps that was a lazy assumption on the back of a decent showing against Man Utd in the Cup. Strange timing maybe, but I guess time will tell. If someone comes in and keeps them up, it'll be considered a master stroke.
Who knows what SL and LJ will do next but a back down isn't on the cards. I have always liked Owen Coyle but I won't hold my breath about him coming to the Gate in any capacity.
His stock will have dropped considerably after this; his successful years at Burnley seem a long time ago now. I'd be surprised if another Championship side took a punt on him soon. I expect back home to Scotland, or possibly League One.
A team in a bad way with 1 good player . makes £10m and gets less than 250K to spend on replacement to stay in touch, albeit in bottom 3 is no mean feat.... he will be swallowed up sooner than later
Another experienced manager biting the dust.......Many would have said that was a good appointment.....again it happens, that's football.....sometimes it works sometimes it don't...
He's nothing special in my opinion, failed at most clubs he's been despite one good season with Burnley. In fact I still put that promotion season of theirs down to one man that I said WE should have signed and that was Chris Eagles. He was exceptional in this league.
I was staggered by Coyle's callous abandonment of Burnley just prior to their first season in the Premiership. Cant remember where he went (age !) but I do remember being horrified on Burnley's behalf.
We have quite enough coaches..... In fact the disastrous run we embarked upon coincided with the appointment of yet another coach at AG.
Was Bolton, he took them down I seem to remember and then naffed off to Wigan. I was staggered to learn he was only 50! I showed a pic of him to the wife and she guessed 66!! He's a non drinker as well!
that's a big problem now!!!! although he didn't do well at Coventry ...with Coyles enthusiasm of the state of the club re result v Man utd and the results generally could be right place right time, at least for the next 2 months! we need Burton to win on Friday likewise Birmingham
