Just had a few weeks on corfu, really enjoyed it especially the north east coast.
Having said that Sidari and Kavos are absolute **** holes.
Would be interested in your recommendations, where to go and where to avoid.
    Serious thread gentlemen.

    On here? <laugh>

Cancun is nice if you go when it isn't crowded. My go-to beach is Hunting Island in South Carolina. <ok>

Nice large beaches. No crowds. Lots of wildlife.

Where to go in Corfu or where to go in general?

Depends what your Holiday experience is angled at...some people like to take England with them and get pissed every night and go to clubs. Im more cultured..i like to explore the way the natives live. My holidays are usually subdued..i visit sites of interests and just chill out..away from arseholes.

There's a great beach on the northernmost point of Sicily called San Vito lo Capo. Powder white sand, crystal blue waters and amazing food. A short drive away there are Ancient Greek temples at Segesta and a Norman castle at Erice.

I went to a place called Perama, about halfway up Corfu to the east. Lovely place with hardly any Brits.

If you're on a budget and don't want to be on a plane too long I'd suggest Marrakech. No beach though.

Dirt cheap, lots of nice resorts, great food, ready access to other substances if required and very safe. Also not too many Brits.

We go Atlantic coast France every year, Aquitaine region.

Love it there. Live the beaches, surf, beer, food, forests, wine and even the local froggies.

Interesting, I've always gone right down south or on one occasion the Languedoc Region (which was really nice), I will look into this for a future holiday.

It's perfect. Perhaps not as guaranteed sunny as actual south of France but I prefer the landscape.

We're off to Bidart, next to Biarritz, again this summer but I prefer it further north if anything. Love Montalivet and Soulac.

I will look into this, I'm off to the Canaries next Summer Puerto Rico so it'll be for the year after but that gives me time to really look into it.

It's a ferry/drive/caravan job. Not sure if that's your thing?

You could fly/hire car/gite though I guess. Plenty options.

Our kids are still young so they like being on a site with pool and loads of others about to have a laugh with. I couldn't stay in an apartment or something with them as they'd all end up killing each other.

No way could I endure airports and flights either.
