So Jose once again publicly slates his player... Looks like Luke Shaw will be available for a small fee in the summer. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39474472 Should managers be this honest in public? Or keep a lid on it. Yes we all know Luke is a lazy fat bag of ****e, but should his manager/mentor rip into him with such venom? Discuss.
As Phil Neville says, maybe this is his last attempt to get him moving. It's hard to feel sorry for the player as he is being paid an absilute **** load of cash and by the sounds of it isn't doing enough to earn it. Always assuming Mourinho is telling the truth of course. Shaw needs to, figuratively speaking, look across the pitch at his opposite full back to find out how to put in the effort.
Too much too young, mate. He's bought into his own publicity. Money probably gone to his head. Thinks he's got it made instead of realising he's got to work for it. Probably not the sharpest tool in the box either! I'm sure he'll wake up one day when he's older and it'll dawn on him what a **** he's made of his golden opportunity!
I've heard that he is as thick as pig **** so it may go in one ear and out the other. Somewhere in there is a good player. But maybe not as good as people first thought?
Not entirely sure, he did look the business last season until he broke his leg and that has without doubt also held him back. That just makes things more difficult but should not in any way be used as an excuse, it should be used as inspiration to work harder if anything.
The degree of venom is probably the issue here, not the actual matter. As we have discussed on Spurs 606, difficult to offload such players if you have inflated their wages far beyond what their on-pitch performances anywhere actually merit (few can afford their wages) .
Genius if it works, damaging if it doesn't. Basically it's a risky strategy that could and probably should have been said behind closed doors, imo. But hey I'm no Jose.
I'm sure this isn't Mourinho distracting the media following another less than ideal result, is it? Shaw doesn't feature in his plans and I'm sure he'll be out in the summer, though. Might have to get a loan somewhere, as his wages are pretty high, by all accounts.
Rumours were circulating last week, from a couple of 'current players' saying he's doing nothing to help himself, not trying hard enough etc. Mkhitaryan has adjusted accordingly, but this kid just seems to have been knocked for six, and can't reignite the fire. I feel like Darmian is a little bit the same, but to a lesser extent. It's certainly not his natural ability keeping him out of the team.
I think it's pretty common knowledge he had issues with KDB, Lukaku and Ballotelli (who hasn't though!). I think it's a common issue Jose has with young players. Just doesn't trust them. No real surprises Rashford can't get a game and Jose has built a team around a (very good) 35 year old.
He did the same with Mata, and that was across 2 clubs. Mata is now playing good football under him, so in some cases (very rare I guess) this cold tactic works.
I never got why he had a downer on Mata. I think he's a terrific little player. Intelligent, talented, etc. I'd love to have him at our place, not sure he runs enough for MP though.
This is more of a " Jose " story than a " Luke " story . Mourinho is no good for any team at this point of his managerial career . Just my opinion , big mistake by Man U letting him in the door with his " It's all about me " baggage .
Not sure where I read it but apparently Shaw is the biggest **** you've met. I'v heard it's like it's his mission to piss his career up the wall.
Luke is a cracking little player if treated correctly, Mourinho has had it in for him since he got through the door 'cos he snubbed him when he signed for Utd. This is all about Jose as usual and i'm not convinced he is a Utd style manager. He also made a balls up with Morgan Schneiderlin who will turn out to be class at Everton.
