It'll be his special selective quoting pen. Hamilton claims "That" "Toto" "is to" "Blame" "for" "all my" "engine" "failures" At least Japan is next weekend so the hello magazine side of F1 only has a few days to burn.... it is next weekend, please say it's next weekend?
Great race that. 1. Hamilton was imperious up front. He was in a great championship position until that blow up. 2. Hamilton seriously needs to shut up about his reliability. Nobody is sabotaging him. How does he know that the singapore race he had then he was allowed to run it at 100% in hit air while rosberg was in front did not do it. As usual its every excuse. Which never goes in his favour does it... i kbow he cares and is angry when interviewed but at least this was not with 2 races left. He has 5 races to win this. 3. Rosberg v raikkonen. Well done i say. That shows hes manned up. The stewards penalising is making this sport a pussy game now. That was pure bravery. 4. Vettel v max. Turn about is fair play... no penalty there though. 5. Sky are really biased. They played the engine stuff to the max. 6. Really good race as there was lots of action all through. Loved that one despite the engine blow which kind of puts the rest of the championship as less competitive. 7. As of now i think hamilton needs 4 wins? Min?
Yes, Daniel! Deserved that, not today necessarily, but across the season. Great clean fight between Verstappen and himself secured the win too. How refreshing.
To compound Vettels season, Sebastian Vettel has been given a three place grid penalty for the Japanese Grand Prix for the first lap incident today
Its getting a bit silly now and a kids game but at leadt its consistent Vettel ino was an idiot to put a car there just as verstappen was at spa. Its the saving grace for hamilton as without it his blow up would have put him a full race behi d and probably just about out. 5 races and 23 points down means he can still win it with 4 wins out of 5. He does need a race where rosberg is not second as well. Big ask now but roll on japan.
Don't agree with the penalty based on their decisions throughout the season. No situation us like for like but there are very close similarities. It's not a contact sport, but contact is inevitable - and the stewards inconsistency make the sport look stupid. We will lose any potential wheel to wheel action if penalties are going to be handed out like they are.
Rosberg's penalty was never a penalty. Vettel sounded like he was expecting to get one when he was interviewed, and probably deserved it on balance.
The thing with Vettels penalty is its not consistent with other 1st corner/1st lap incidents - right or wrong. The other thing is that's Max's dancing around has to be dealt with, not that it excuses Vettel. Overlay Kimi's defence on Max at Spa into turn 1 and Max's today on Vettel and they are night and day apart.
Hamilton has been desperately unlucky all season. Nico Rosberg, world champion, just sounds wrong. How anyone doesn't think he deserved a penalty is beyond me. He dove in from so far back and punted Kimi out of the way. I would have given him a drive through not 10 seconds. I much prefer those penalties as cars are racing each other and not the clock. Side note, as ever, Hamilton needs to learn to shut up more. He's never been a good loser.
I'm ok with Nico's penalty. For me Sebastian's was harsh in the context of the current climate. Like at Spa if you stick your nose down the inside of the first corner, some kind of contact is always likely to occur, here it seemed that Nico was the unlucky victim of minor contact between Sebastian and Verstappen. There's a lot of lines through the first two corners when battling and it didn't seem anyone did anything that unusual/aggressive.
I ended up falling asleep during the race, grrr! Will have to try watch it later today. Why on earth is Vettel getting a penalty in Japan? His penalty for his actions was already served when he broke the car. Bonkers!
As far as i am concerned the new owners need to appoint 3 permanent stewards immediately to deal with this and they shoyld be instructed that A) when people mess with the pits punish it. Last race there was a shocking pit release which put a mechanics life in danger that was unpunished B) we see a frankly mans move by rosberg punished. Man up. A bit of bashing about is no harm to the action It was a bloody huge risk on rosberg in fighting for the title and as just ballsy as **** Raikkonen didnt complain after. I find this system of different guys deciding different outcines every week pathetic.
Spotted this in the Benson piece on the BBC Sport site. Another team secret let slip whilst upset, it would seem. I also saw Niki said: Keep your steering wheel with you at all times Nico!
