Last game I was unhappy that Jerome Watkins Naismith and Martin started and Furious that we got bullied off the park at home. Today those 4 were benched and we won . Neil would have played the same side again .
SOOOO many people on MFW, EDP etc ALL said we need to have PATIENCE with all the changes in management and in the squad. Onwards and Upwards. I think as long as we get a point on Saturday, I'll be happy!!!
Well they're not really wrong are they? better than panicking after just 3 games. Think people just expect instant success now and not willing to give new mangers or players a chance. I was kind of expecting a slow start to the season, but hopeful of a good finish.
Reed's debut goal was like a Scholes long ranger special. Saw it on SSN Class player . http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/10991879/norwich-2-0-qpr ^^^^^Highlights
Hope this works - Reed's goal was superb. http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/10991879/norwich-2-0-qpr From the player watch on the EDP website on Basil - "85 – REPLACED – With the crowd still buzzing from the second goal, Oliveira receives a standing ovation as he is replaced by Marco Stiepermann, shaking hands and hugging head coach Daniel Farke as he goes off."
I was one of those down after Sunderland, but this was a solid performance well suited to the Championship. Feeling much better now.
Bought my ticket for Brum. Did ask if it was transferable for a meal in Yellows. but maybe I'll stick with it after this!
Might see you there, I bought mine yesterday and also have one for Charlton. Player ratings from the Mirror for tonight's game - Norwich: Gunn 7; Pinto 6 (Martin 68, 5), Zimmerman 6, Franke 7, Husband 6; Reed 7, Vrancic 7; Maddison 7, Murphy 7, Hoolahan 7; Oliveira 8 MOTM So Martin is 'the weakest link!!!!'
Back from the game tonight, a few thoughts: -First 10 mins we were hopeless, really thought we were going to struggle tonight so it was a pleasant surprise how the game developed! -I'm not sure Husband is as well suited to being a LB as a LWB. Despite having Josh to occasionally help him out, he still got into more problems defensively than Pinto, who had less cover. -Speaking of Josh, I'm not convinced this role gets the most out of him. When he gets the ball in wide areas he terrifies the full back and creates openings. More centrally he isn't yet making the right runs, and isn't providing an option in the box when Oliveira is pushed wide. -I think our midfield might be a bit lightweight for this league. Reed, Wes, Maddison, Vrancic and Murphy aren't winning many aerial battles, and not are they putting in many tackles. The central players are all very neat and tidy in possession, but out of it only Hoolahan and Reed impressed me tonight. Vrancic in particular, who is getting a lot of plaudits tonight for his excellent assist, seems like a luxury player. A bit more bite in midfield would be nice. Having said that, Vrancic has barely started to get used to English football, and Stiepermann when he came on looked like he might offer a bit more physically. -Despite the abundance of clever midfielders, I felt Oliveira was isolated frequently, and the midfield seemed simultaneously to be in poor positions to receive the ball, but also out of position when Oliveira was unsurprisingly dispossessed. -Having said all that, there are clear signs of progress, and we dominated from about 60 mins. QPR never got a sustained spell of pressure, or much in the way of chances to equalise. Reed, Zimmerman and Wes were all superb.
Am I just imagining things or do we get good results far more often if Pinto starts? It's like he's our key player Oh and pant wetting after a decent draw away and losing to a newly relegated side is worthy of disdain. We're fine. Tough league this year - Wolves look phenomenal as well as the many big clubs vying for promotion. So we'll do well to get play offs anyway.
