If you were to pick an all star team from sides that you consider to be in the North and one from teams in the South, who would they be and which one would be the better of the two? May as well pick a manager too. I haven't decided on mine yet, something to muse on.
I'm saying prem teams because it's a given that they have the best players but if anyone wanted Championship players in then go ahead.
South would win but north would be a very good side. My team for North: De Gea Valencia Kompany (in an ideal world) Lovren Friend Herrera Toure De Bruyne Mkhitaryan Aguero Zlatan Very hard to choose a best 11. Not a single Arsenal player would make South. Chelsea/Spurs would dominate.
South- Lloris, Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Alonso, Kante, Matic, Eriksen, Hazard, Kane, Sanchez North- De Gea, Clyne, Kompany, Rojo, Clichy, De Bruyne, Pogba, Silva, Coutinho, Ibrahimovic, Aguero South team is very Spurs-heavy in defence, but they do have the joint-best record in the league this season, and I think individually those three are better than their Chelsea counterparts. Very hard to pick between Kane and Costa but have gone with Kane because he doesn't have the ticking time-bomb aspect. North team is surprisingly weak at the back (have gone with Kompany assuming he's fully fit) but stronger in midfield and up front I'd say.
Antonio Valencia is quite possibly the best RB in the world today, putting Clyne ahead of him is like putting Bravo ahead of De Gea.
Fair enough mate, I've not watched enough of your lot this season so not really picked up on Valenica's form, and I've always rated Clyne, think he'd slot in really well to a quality side if he had some more competent defenders alongside him than he does at the Scousers...
North - Manager: Mourinho De Gea, Coleman, Otamendi, Lovren, Valencia, Herrera, Silva, Coutinho, De Bruyne, Lukaku, Aguero South - Manager: Conte Courtois, Bertrand,Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Alonso, Matic, Kante, Willian, Sanchez, Costa, Kane It was a lot easier picking the South team, more quality and options all over the pitch and even when it comes to managers. I'm playing Valencia and Bertrand out of position but I think they'd be fine. North team will have to be of the attack is the best form of defence mindset but De Gea should help keep them in games. One thing was noticeable, Arsenal and Liverpool need to get buying.
I'd want North to win so I'm happy to pick as many Arsenal players as possible. And Wenger as manager.
Yeah he nearly made it in, can't ignore a talent like that, he's just a bit too up and down for my liking. He's been great this season but he was crap the last and might be the next if Conte says something he doesn't like.
Yeah he was poor last season but so was Costa. Hopefully he'll be off in the summer because without Hazard, Chelsea are beatable!
I know the fact I picked Costa nullifies my argument against Hazard, I guess I just like him more. At least when he's pissed off with the manager it's in the open and not whispers behind his back. Who knows whether he'll go or not, he could end up playing in China for a million pounds a week or something batshit crazy like that.
They're a great side, can't deny that. The scary thing is they don't look like they've got out of 2nd gear for most of the season.
