Plan A = play our best players and smash top teams

Plan B = have our best played injured/subbed and smash crap teams

    Mourinho's plan:
    1. Chelsea's worst season since 1978
    2. Sacked
    3. Sued
    4. Buy most expensive player ever
    5. Man Utd's worst season since 1990

I would say results suggest we very much do need a plan B.

As far as I see it we still haven't found a solution to the teams cancelling out our plan A.

But is that because Plan A is not yet good enough rather than it failing all together?

This Liverpool side is around 70% of what Klopps Dortmund side look like. It's missing a quality back 4 and creative mids.

The Plan A hasn't failed imo - it's that the players aren't good enough to execute.

I don't understand how a plan A can work so well and then suddenly stop if it was just down to the quality of the players alone.

Clubs have worked out how to counter our plan A and we're yet to find a tactic to break down theirs.

Even United have a plan B with Fellaini.

Klopp had this problem when he had an awful run at Dortmund too.

    Its not without precedent.

Because Klopp's Plan A at Dortmund was good enough to:

    A) concede less goals
    B) create chances by passing through team teams
    C) create chances by winning the ball high up the pitch

At the moment, we can only do C. Teams are countering us easily is because we have a weak defence and midfield.

The point I'm making is that Klopp hasn't fully implemented Plan A yet ..

So far we have Plan A on a negative net spend and impeded by a bad run when half our squad was away or injured. And we're still on for top 4 which will provide money and justification to improve and expand the squad.

    Fair enough.

I would like us to have a second option.

There are time when we will meet a team where Plan A simply wont work unless we have the best first 11 in the world.

All the above come form better players :)

He have an average enough keeper IMO but two top top CBs and CMs that were very strong indeed. AND top top strikers. (and he developed them all)

the only way to develop is to get the right players in and develop the whole squad together... which includes the players you love to bash.

If klopp gets another CB I think lovren must stay cos the alternatives are frankly not better than him are they?
