I like the green and black kit. Looks rather moody. I'd like a small touch of red on the home kit though, maybe red piping around the collar or sleeves. Dennis the Menace should never be dropped as the away kit. It's a design classic.
This season's shirt ordered (well, 16/17). Good old classicfootballshirts.co.uk have unsponsored (i.e. player issue) shirts from this season just ended for £17.99.... which I hope won't be the best result I get this year!
For me, last years light blue hooped away kit was one the very best. Just had a text from QPR that kids kits not immediate available due to production issues. Have we picked another duff manufacturer I wonder ?
Here's the moment they presented it to Stan, very sad to see him as he is now but a great touch by the club to think of this...
Agree entirely. There are moments when he's clearly with what's happening, but most of the time, he just seemed to be a bit lost with the whole thing. Very sad when someone you remember so vividly being entertained by, and who led such a full, active, and vibrant life, reduced to only being able to cope within the confines of his house, or his room, or even his own head. Let's hope that the Benefit Match pulls in a tidy sum for him, it's the least we can do for someone who gave us so much.
Makes us look like a pub team sponsored by a takeaway on the Uxbridge Road, but apart from that I like it.
What does the back look like with/and what will the colour of the numbers and names be? I think the green kit needs the dark shorts and not the green shorts
Yeah. That's dementia. He's actually doing well all things considered, living at home and so on. What a bastard of a condition. My short term memory is shot to ****, I am genuinely getting worried by it, but testing with friends of a similar age it seems we are all in the same boat.
ME too Stan....and I'm captain of a quiz team! I'm now "revising" just to maintain what I know... Decline in memory is a function of age....but dementia as you know is something else. I have a strong sense that the prevalence is increasing....and I'm not sure why.. Maybe it is a function of living longer.......my aunt who is 94 developed it in her 80s....but there seems more people who developed it in their 50-60s....any ideas ?
Sb, with having had several family members suffering from dementia, I can tell you that the short term memory goes in the first instance. Long term memory holds on till the short term memory continues to stretch back, joining the long term memory, until all is gone. My wife's uncle .............. a brilliant musician and the resident band at a club in Sydney for over 30 years. The gentleman was the perfect host for all types of functions ................... now he is a reclusive frightened man that life has withdrawn from. Very sad indeed. On a positive note, having just clicked over another digit, now 56, I can tell you most people l know of our age, suffer memory loss on a weekly basis. For me, it can be almost daily. Busy lifestyles, work, multitasking, all play there part is making us feel we are losing it. I don't believe we are .............. just yet. We're simply getting older, a little wiser l hope, with life experiences. Footnote - Sorry Beth for venturing off topic.
